Hi, guys! Read the author's note to get an update on what's going on :D
Castiel's family was very picky about who was allowed to date their son and brother, and had to go through multiple tests to earn the family's approval. This wasn't an easy task, and had only been accomplished once, and the person ended up cheating on poor Cas.
After that relationship, the family had been even more careful, but Cas really hadn't felt up to dating anyone until he was 100. But, his family encouraged him to do otherwise.
Tinder date after tinder date, he began losing hope, until he was matched with a man named Dean. The man was stunningly handsome, and he thought that it was just a player looking for one night, and one night only. That night, he had drunk himself into oblivion, and in his drunken state, had texted this Dean.
Waking up the next morning, his hand shot straight to his phone, scoping the damage.
Shit. He had texted Dean.
It looked like he had game or Dean was desperate, but apparently he got himself a date tomorrow. He let a loud sigh and dragged his hand across his face. His hangover wasn't making this experience any better, either.
The next day, an hour before the big date, he began getting ready. He threw on his lucky trench coat, a gift from his dear friend, Hannah.
He didn't even bother shaving, though he attempted to make his hair look at least a little suitable, but it was useless. He spritzed a few puffs of his favorite cologne, and was off.
Hours later, the date had actually gone well. Dean hadn't actually been looking for a one night deal, and he was awfully kind. Castiel was excited for the prospect of a second date, but was sure he scared off the man with his awkwardness, and his wild hair that seemed he was an evil scientist.
The second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on went perfectly. So well, in fact, that Dean had agreed to meet Castiel's parents. The dinner had went extraordinarily well, and when Dean had given Cas a tender peck goodbye and left, his family swooped in, each holding a piece of paper with the number ten scrawled over them.
"YES YES YES!" squealed Cas' older brother, Gabriel. "FINALLY! SOMEONE!"
"We approve!" Michael, Castiel's other older brother announced.
Cas smiled wide, but he wasn't at all surprised. He knew that Dean would pass with flying colours, but never expected this much welcoming. Each and every family member was awfully pleased.
But, their happiness dissipated. They crept closer until they were each an inch away from Castiel's face.
"You. Will. Not. Mess. This. Up," Lucifer, yet another older sibling whispered harshly. "No one as cool as that will ever come up again, you hear me?"
Cas nodded quickly, and they all relaxed.
"Good. We should expect to meet him again."
"Of course."
