“Losing me will hurt; it will be the kind of pain that won't feel real at first, and when it does, it will take her breath away.” -Gayle Forman

It had been a few days since Sherlock's suicide. Those few who knew him stood at his grave; John, Claire, Mrs. Hudson, and Lestrade. After a few silent minutes, Lestrade left wordlessly, sorrow across his features, and Mrs. Hudson left sobbing. It left only Claire and John standing side by side infront of the gravestone.
Claire spaced out as John was talking, well, it sounded like he was more talking to himself or the grave than her. For what seemed like a lifetime he finally looked at her, and she glided back to reality.
"I'll.... I'll be at the car." he says, his voice breaking, but trying to stay strong. She nods, facing forward, facing the gravestone.
Once he had gone, she exhales, shutting her eyes, a tear falling down her cheek. She wiped it away hastily, opening her eyes.
"Sherlock Holmes." she began, trying to keep her voice solid, steady.
"Once I figured out who you were, who you... really were, its as if everything came back. I could see everything, every detail, every movement. You helped me see again."
She knelt down infront of the stone, more tears flooding her eyes. "But now... now nothing seems to make sense anymore. It's become dark, and cold again. Without you... John and I, we're just... we're just normal, blind to the world."
She traced the letters on the cold hard stone, her voice breaking, "But, I never told you one thing. Three words I never thought i'd say to another human being. I guess I never will be able to now."
She stood up, wiping her eyes, and took a deep breath. "We miss you, Sherlock." she said, then turned, walking back to the car, almost tripping over some gravestones.
But, what she didn't know, is that Sherlock was watching, and listening, just feet away, near the woods.
