Chapter 1

CATHERINE’S POV

I woke up to my alarm clock obnoxiously ringing in my ear. I slammed the snooze button down as I rolled over to try and get a few more minutes of sleep, but it was no use. After my alarm clock went off for the second time, I shut it off and got ready for my day at school. I took a hot shower to loosen my tight muscles from sleeping in an awkward position last night, as I fell asleep studying again. After my shower, I got dressed in jeans and a hoodie, did my hair and makeup, and went downstairs for breakfast.

“Good morning, dear,” my mom chirped as I walked into the kitchen.

            “Morning,” I said yawning.

“How did you sleep?” she asked as she made my little brother’s lunch.

“Fine, my shoulders are sore, but it’s not a big deal.”

“Okay, well hurry up and eat or you’ll be late for school.”

“I know, Mom,” I said pouring milk onto my cereal. I finished up and headed to school.

My two best friends, Paige and Jane, approached me while I was at my locker. They were carrying on about some guy Jane saw on the way to school.

“So, Cat, did you see what Harry tweeted last night?” Jane asked.

“What, about the tour dates? Yes,” I said as a smile crept onto my face.

“Are we going or not?” she asked shoving me lightly.

“I guess so, if we can come up with the money in time.”

“You don’t sound too excited,” Paige questioned.

“I’m just exhausted. I was up late studying for Walker’s test today.”

“Fuck that, Cat. Cheer up,” Jane said rolling her eyes.

“Easy for you to say, you don’t care about your grades,” I said grabbing my notebook and pen out of my bag.

“Because I don’t need to go to college to be a tattoo artist!” she defended.

“Yeah, okay,” I said laughing lightly.

“Anyway, I should get to class, so I’ll see you two at lunch,” Paige said.

“Okay, bye!” Jane yelled down the hallway earning a few looks from students and teachers.

“So, this Friday, we should all go out to this new club,” she started.

“I don’t go to clubs, Jane. You know that. We’re only seventeen anyway.”

“Come on! My uncle can get us in for free! Please!” she begged.

“You know Paige won’t want to either. Maybe for your birthday or something next month.”

“Fine. I’m going to class. Bye,” she huffed.

Finally, I made my way to lunch with Paige. She was going on about some physics homework or something. My mind was more focused on the fact that I was starving and that Harry Styles would be within twenty minutes of me in two months. I need to go to that concert.
