Chapter 22

CATHERINE’S POV

The ringing from the doorbell flooded the room, and the three of us looked at each other as Harry got the door. Jane and Paige looked panicked, but they promised me they’d be calm. They were never nervous around guys, so this was new. I heard footsteps walk into the room.

“Girls, these are my friends,” Harry said smiling down at me. “I think you know who they are, though.”

“Hey, I’m Jane,” she said coolly. I was so proud of her for not freaking out.

“Hey, I’m Luke,” he said smiling at her sitting next to her on the couch. I stood next to Harry and he grabbed my hand. Calum sat next to Paige, causing her to blush when he smiled at her. After everyone was introduced, we all sat around and talked about anything and everything. The boys would crack a few jokes that would make Paige and Jane laugh. Harry’s fingers were locked with mine the whole time. He was tense and I wasn’t sure why.

            “Is everything okay?” I whispered.

            “Yep,” he answered shortly.

“Hey, we’ll be right back,” I announced, pulling Harry off of the couch and into the kitchen.

“Now, are you going to tell me what’s wrong?”

“Michael keeps staring at you,” he said not meeting my gaze.

            “Oh, really? I didn’t notice.”

“Well he has been and I swear to god if—“

“Harry, the only person I care about is you. You don’t have to get jealous,” I said smiling.

            “Jealous? You think I’m jealous?”

            “I mean, that’s what you’re implying.”

“I’m not jealous. I just don’t like the way he keeps looking at you.”

“Okay, well there’s nothing to worry about, so just try to ignore I,” I said rolling my eyes. I walked out of the kitchen ahead of Harry, but he caught up and locked his fingers with mine once again.

“Everything okay?” Paige asked. I smiled and nodded at her.

“Let’s go do something. Would you girls like to take a tour of London?” Ashton asked, smiling wide.

“Sure,” Jane said coolly. I looked at Harry who looked a lot more calm and relaxed.

“Paige and Jane will ride with the four of you then?” Harry asked, squeezing my hand.

“If they want to,” Luke said looking at a flushed Jane. She and Paige nodded, and they followed them out to their car.

“I guess I’m with you,” I said smiling at Harry.

“You’re stuck with me,” he said winking. That I definitely was.

“That was so funny!” Jane said trying to catch her breath from laughing. We just barely escaped a torrential downpour and a few photographers and headed into a frozen yogurt shop. We were all soaked and out of breath. I was cold from the air conditioner in the shop.
