Chapter 6
CATHERINE’S POV
It has been two weeks since the concert, and I still haven’t spoken to Harry. Twitter was buzzing because of the “Hendall” break-up which caused speculation, the most popular theory was because of Kendall’s success on her clothing line, she no longer needed Harry’s help. I forced myself out of bed to get ready for school.
As I undressed and made my way into the shower, I couldn’t help but think about Harry. Maybe Kendall and Harry were actually dating, and they did actually break up. I hope I wasn’t the cause of that, but I was almost positive I wasn’t. Why would Harry ever think of me that way? I pushed my thoughts aside and let the warm water roll off of my shoulders and trickle down my back.
After getting changed, I dried my hair and applied only a little make-up. Jane texted me and said she was sick, so she wouldn’t be at school. Paige had to visit her family for the weekend, so she wouldn’t be there either. I finished getting ready, grabbed my phone, and headed downstairs to the kitchen.
My mom was making my brother’s lunch while he was eating breakfast. I grabbed a granola bar, said goodbye, and headed out to my car. I backed out of the driveway and started down the road. The radio was playing some new Katy Perry song, so I turned it up. I pulled into the school, only to see that my assigned parking spot was taken. Great. I found a parking space all the way at the back of the lot, and headed into school.
During my English class, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Veronica, the head bitch of my school, smirking at me. I raised my eyebrow and turned back around. Once the bell rang, she called my name while I made my way out of the classroom.
“Catherine!” she called.
“Can I help you?” I asked, not being in the mood to deal with her shit.
“So, you know Niall Horan.”
“I wouldn’t say that I know him. I mean, we all had dinner.”
“Well, I think you should ask your little celebrity boyfriend if you can bring a friend next time.”
“Okay, first, he’s not my boyfriend. Second, you’re not my friend.”
“Look, if you don’t help me get to Niall, I will tell everyone about those god-awful speed bumps on your wrist. Got it?” she said sharply.
“Fuck you,” I mumbled as I walked away.
“I mean it!” she called. I rolled my eyes and walked into the library. I ate a pack of M&Ms, not wanting to eat lunch after how disgusted I was with my run-in with Veronica. I finished with my lunch period and headed to my last few classes before being set free for the weekend. “Only one more month and then you’re free,” I told myself as I drove home.
After dinner, I helped my mom put away the clean dishes. After getting everything cleaned up, she took my brother to his friend’s house for the night. Thank God. I went to my room and scrolled through my Twitter while in a group text with Paige and Jane. Jane said she was puking all day, but should be back in school by Monday, and Paige said she was bored in Chicago with her family. I told them what Veronica said to me, and Jane went off on a rampage. There was no way that I was helping her, regardless of what she said about me. Just then, my phone buzzed, and it was Harry.
