Chapter 7
HARRY’S POV
I slid my arm around Catherine’s waist pulling her close. The view was amazing up here. I could get away for only a little while and think on my own. Catherine rested her head on my shoulder and sighed comfortably. I smiled so that she couldn’t see. This was perfect.
“So, how many girls do you bring up here?” she asked, joking of course.
“Oh, this is the usual place. I make regular appearances.”
“Oh really?” she said lifting her head and raising an eyebrow. Although she was joking, I could see some sort of seriousness in her eye.
“Yes, definitely. I bring all the hot girls here,” I said winking.
“You think I’m hot?” she said blushing.
“Maybe I did. You should have been listening,” I said nudging her with my elbow as I mocked her. She laughed and shoved me playfully. This girl was absolutely perfect. How many times do I have to tell you, idiot? Stop thinking about her.
CATHERINE’S POV
Harry said he brings all of the girls up here. I know he was kidding, but what if he really wasn’t? What if I was just another girl to him? One who he would need for publicity? Wait, but why would I be publicity? I’m a normal girl. I pushed the thoughts out of my head and laid my head back to rest on his shoulder, inhaling his light minty scent.
The sun was sinking down below the horizon and it was getting slightly cooler. Harry and I talked about his life before he was in a famous boy band and about his family. His parents split up when he was young, and his step father is the main influence in his life. I was happy that I could relate with Harry on not having a father around. A cool breeze sent a shiver down my spine, and Harry turned to me.
“Are you cold?”
“Just a little, but I’ll be fine.”
“We could leave if you want. If you’re hungry we could go to dinner?” he offered.
“Nothing fancy. In ‘n’ Out is fine by me.”
“Burgers it is then!” he said offering me his hand. I took it and was pulled up right next to him, centimeters away. He stared into my eyes, but I knew I couldn’t continue where it was going. I looked down and brushed off my shorts, coughing awkwardly. Harry led the way back to his Range Rover, giving me an extra hoodie he had in the trunk.
“Don’t try and sell that online,” he said smirking at me.
“Damn it,” I said smiling in return. “I was hoping to make a few hundred.”
“Too bad,” he chuckled.
Once we made it to the burger joint, Harry opened the door for me. I smiled as I walked in, trying to hide my flushed cheeks. This was such a good day. I didn’t want it to end. Harry and I ordered burgers and fries and sat down, trying not to notice the people staring at us. It go to the point where everyone was making us uncomfortable.
“If you want, we can eat in the car,” he offered.
“It’s up to you. You’re the reason they’re staring,” I said smiling, trying to lighten the mood.
