-Luke-

Why can't I tell if he's looking at me, should I give him a smile, should I get up and leave?

We're sitting on the floor in Lauren's living room, a board game that I don't really care about on the table, and two people sitting on the other side of it.

Lauren, and you guessed it, Ashton.

The TV's on in the background, but my back is facing it so I'm not paying much attention.

I see Ashton looking up in my direction every so often, but I just figure he's watching the TV.

Why would he look at me anyways?

First off, I'm a Sophomore and he's a Senior.

Second of all, I'm a boy and he's a boy.

Third of all, I'm ugly and he's hot.

Fourth, and probably most important of all, I'm his sister's best friend.

I debate back and forth in my head if I should just give him a quick smile or get up and go to the bathroom.

Go to the bathroom it is.

"I'm gonna head to the bathroom really quick, Laur." I say, running my fingers through my hair quickly and getting up off the floor.

Lauren nods, acknowledging my statement.

I quietly slip into the bathroom, taking my phone out of my pocket and tossing it in between my hands, debating what to do.

I turn on my phone, entering my text messages between my friend Tristan, who coincidentally is dating one of the boys in Ashton's band.

luke: trissss

tris: what

luke: i need helppp

tris: aren't you over at laur's? can't you ask her for help?

luke: but it's about ashton ))-:

tris: ohhhh damn

tris: what's up?

luke: akhdifidcjh

tris: clarify

luke: ugh

tris: i feel ya buddy

tris: hey, brad's having this party this weekend, do you want to come with me?

tris: you're boyfriend's gonna be there

luke: he's not my boyfriend

tris: yet

luke: yet

I grin at my reflection, running my fingers through my quiff once again, stuffing my phone back into my pocket, then exiting the bathroom, only to come face to face with the one and only

"I noticed there wasn't a toilet flush." Ashton says, quirking an eyebrow.

"I needed to call my mum." I lie.

"Okay." Ashton rolls his eyes. "I heard you were going to Brad's party this weekend? See you there." He winks at me, before walking up the stairs with that cute ass of his.

Well, that escalated quickly.
