"Ashton is going to a party tomorrow." Lauren informs me.
I nod, continuing to walk next to her down the school hallway.
"I want to go, and he won't let me go." She pouts, stopping at her locker.
I continue walking, stopping a couple lockers away.
"Do you want to come over while he's out?" She fills the silence between us.
"Um, sorry, I can't. I'm busy." I say, not wanting to tell her the truth.
"Tristan invited you to the party, didn't he." She crosses her arms.
"Tristan isn't going, we're both going to the movies." I lie.
"Then why can't I go?" She protests.
"You don't like horror movies." I remind her, taking out my History book.
She groans, collecting her book as well.
"Whatever." She rolls her eyes.
