Chapter Four

I spent a long time that night writing my new song. When it was finished, I snuck up the stairs to mess with Mica's guitar and put it to music. Then I sat back to sing it.

Thought I knew you

What we had was strong

Thought it was normal, sane

But you drove me through the rain

Tears fall silently

Can't even look at you anymore

In what way is this safe?

In what way can you change?

When I look in the mirror

I see you staring back

When the rain falls

Your memory pushes it's way through

I close my eyes and you're back inside

Reality is a pain

All I wanted to do was love you

In my life there is one constant

One person I could trust

I have one friend, one person to lean on

When you left me alone

Couldn't pick up the phone

You were gone and I knew I would die

When I look in the mirror

I can see her staring back

She's like a ghost

Floating in my subconscious

Trying to push through

My life was so brand new

The silence pounds on my ears

Time and time again

What happened to that calm, brave girl?

Is she in another world?
