Twenty six weeks, a full five months. I got up out of bed and stretched. He was sure kicking last night before Kade went to bed. I pulled on a pair of shorts then sat on the bed and pulled socks on.

I grabbed my tennis shoes and put them on. Then went for a walk. The dogs followed close by. At first Kade didn't know what to think about it when I brought them home.

He soon got over it and accepted the fact that we almost lost a calf. I walked to the office then barn. I sat down on a hay bale outside of Buster's stall. Lane was already moving.

I leaned back resting on the wall. Once he settled a bit I got up and walked to the office. College classes are out for the summer so while the summer wears on I'll be getting bigger.

Once I got to the office the dogs stayed out while I found camo bedding. Kaleb texted saying him and dad (Mr. Cale) had the crib ready to come over. I checked the time, eight in the morning. I told them to come on over.

I went out and closed the pasture gate. A few minutes later they pulled up. The gate opened and they pulled through. "Come on you look tired." Dad said. I got in and sat next to Kaleb. "So did you two decide on a name?" Dad asked.

"Lane Keaton." I told him. "Sounds reasonable." He said as we pulled up to the house. I got out and went in. Kade still wasn't up. I went into the bedroom hearing him sleeping soundly. He's going to need it when this baby arrives.

I went back into the living room. "Is he still sleeping?" Dad asked. I nodded. "I don't blame him. He'd need the sleep too if he's going to be watching the baby when he's born."

"Well we both decided to take campus classes until he's born. Then just take our classes online until he's old enough to be left with family." I said going into the kitchen. I stopped and felt Lane give a score of kicks.

He makes eating a nightmare and a pleasure. I can't have milk, tea or even any juice. He's one picky thing. I fixed myself eggs putting some milk in with them. Once they were done I fixed some toast to go with it.

Kade came down the hall and stopped at the doorway. He was fully dressed ready for the day. "Kaleb do you wanna help me out this summer with livestock and horses?" Kade asked.

"Sure I'd love too!" Kaleb said. Lane gave a hard kick. Once I was done eating Kade was sitting eating his breakfast. "How did he take the idea of milk hidden in the eggs?" Kade asked me.

"So far so good. Still doesn't like loud noises otherwise he kicks a score." I replied. The dogs barked for their breakfast. I got their bowls and took some dog food out to them.

They happily went and ate it. "How was your walk this morning?" Kade asked. "Good. I stopped to get some sheets for the baby bed and we're going to get a mattress tomorrow for it." I told him.

He nodded. "Still need to figure out which he's going to get once he's big enough not to sleep in ours." He said.

"We'll do that when he's big enough." I said. Once he was done I changed into jeans and a tank and pulled my boots on. Kade helped his dad unload the crib and into the master bedroom. They quickly assembled the bed before dad left.

Kade and I walked up to the office with Kaleb following. "First we have to check on a calf while Kase walks the horses to the paddock." Kade said. "I'm going to need you to help me feed cattle and look for any calves in the grass so I don't run over them." He added.

"Ok." Kaleb said. Once at the barn I stopped at each stall clipping a lead to each horse and leading them out. Zeus and Crombie sniffed at my belly as I unclipped their leads turning them out.

Buster rubbed his head against my arm. I turned him out and went back to the barn. Then sat down on a bale. Once they were done with the stalls they went into the tack room and came back with harnessing.

They both pushed the cart into the barn. There's the occasion when we take Buster for a drive. "Kaleb go out and call Buster in. He'll come right to ya." Kade said as he put the harness on the seat.

Kaleb came back with the draft horse and helped his brother put the harness on. Maybe having a boy or two around won't be too bad. They could learn from each other and their father.

I watched as Kade backed Buster up and Kaleb fastened one side while Kade fastened the other. "Wanna go with us to feed?" Kade asked. I stood up as he came around to help.

One hand was around me and the other on the baby. Lane decided to kick once. Kade kissed me before deepening it. Buster whinnied. "I agree. Good thing I'm not married or have a girlfriend Buster." Kaleb told the horse.

"Come on let's go feed the cattle." Kade said smiling warmly. He helped me onto the seat before leading Buster out. Kaleb was sitting in the back.

Once the feed was loaded we went out. I leaned my head on Kade's shoulder as we went along. The cattle came right up to us. Kade helped me down once we stopped.

I pet several of the calves and cows before they went to eat. Once they were fed we went back to the barn. I brushed Buster on one side as they took his harness off.

Once he was brushed down Kaleb took him back to the paddock while Kade and I went into the office. I laid down on the couch while he sat down behind the computer. "Your grandmother said she's coming up to visit." He said.

"When exactly?" I asked. "Sometime after Lane is born. She said she was going to help watch him while we go to class." He said. "Yeah. Has she been sending you the records and such?" I asked. "Yup. And has been sending me your grandfather's work." He answered.

The phone rang. "There he is." Kade mumbled looking at the phone. I giggled when Lane squirmed. "Is he moving?" Kade asked trying not to laugh.

"I think he knows it's you talking." I said as Lane squirmed again. He stood up and came over to me. Then squat down in front of me. "My parents use to say the same bout me before I was born. I was the active one while Kaleb wasn't moving as much." He said.

Lane squirmed again. I giggled again. Kade lifted my shirt a little and kissed my belly. He moved again. "I honestly can wait to see him in person." I told Kade. "I know. But just let it be the both of us until we have the late nights and early mornings." He said before kissing me.

Kaleb came in and sat on the arm. "Would you like me to go fix you guys lunch while you work?" He asked. "Could you?" Kade asked. "Yeah." Kaleb replied. He went out of the room while Kade went back to the computer.

The phone rang. "It's your grandmother." He said before answering it. Once he got off the phone Kaleb came in.  "I didn't know how much you wanted so here's four sandwiches." He said handing me one.

"Thank you Kaleb." I said. He smiled shyly. After we ate I fell asleep on the couch as Kade typed away on the computer.

I woke up when Kade kissed my cheek. "Come on Kase lets go back to the house and eat supper." He said picking me up. Lane shifted as Kade set me on my feet.

We walked back to the house hand in hand. "I'll run you a bath before I start supper." He said as we walked through the front door. I kicked my boots off and walked into the bedroom. Kade started my bath and came up to me.

He kissed me before unbuttoning my jeans. Then lowered his head to my neck. He kissed my neck before picking me up and kissing me. "I still remember the first time we did it." He said as he slowly walked into the bathroom.

He sat me on the counter taking my jeans off. Then my tank top. He kissed my lips, jaw, neck then belly. "Think he'll mind if we recreate that night?" He asked. "I know I don't." I said before he took me in his arms.
