I jumped out of bed to get Lane. It's almost five in the morning. I took him into the living room while feeding him. He calmed as I sat down. Once he was done eating I sat there rocking him.
After he was dead asleep I carried him back to the bedroom and put him back in his crib. Two months of restless nights already and for a few more months until he starts sleeping better at night.
I crawled back in bed and up against Kade. He pulled me closer to him. "Your getting up next." I told him. "Get some sleep cracker."
Lane started crying again. The bed shifted. I rolled over and pulled the covers up closer. The bed dipped on the sides. Then a small cooing sound came to my ears.
I sat up seeing Kade and Lane on the edge of the bed. Lane held his little arms out to me. "Come here baby boy." I said taking him from his dad.
He cooed again as I slid of the bed. We all went into the living room. Kade made breakfast while I changed Lane's diaper.

I tried to keep up with Lane as he crawled through the office. He is now seven months old and I'm three months pregnant. Thank you Kade. I finally caught up with him and picked him up.
He squealed as I blew a raspberry onto his stomach. I carried him into the playroom we set up so I could watch him and do homework. The door opened and Lane tried to crawl away once again.
I caught him before setting him on my hip. Then walked into the lobby. "Out of class early today?" I asked him. He took Lane when he held his arms out.
"So what are we going to do this afternoon since I'm out of class?" He asked putting his arm around me. "I'm going to finish my homework while you get to play with our son." I told him.
"You know I don't mind doing that." He said before kissing me. He bundled Lane up and they went out to the barn. I went back to my homework to finish it.

Kade held our son as we went in for the first ultrasound of our second baby. I sat on the bed as the nurse asked questions. Then the doctor came in after we heard the heartbeat.
"Let's take a look at your second baby shall we." He said. "And I assume you want to know the gender?"
"Yes." Kade and I said at the same time. "Looks healthy. What were you wanting?" The doc asked. "A healthy baby." I said. "Well good thing you both have boy clothes already." He said. Another boy. I laughed nervously.
"If we have a girl next she's definitely going to have two overly protective brothers."
