My Friends Know Me Best

Chapter:13

I got off the plane dressed in my usual summer attire. Cut off shorts and a tank top. When I told the guys I'm going to be in for the summer they wanted me there immediately. Yesterday was the last day of school.

My grandparents put me on the first flight there even if I missed the last hour of school. So far I have only two friends there and they are girls that I can relate to.

I walked through the terminal and to the baggage claim. I grabbed my huge duffle bag and walked towards the pick up area. Right away I saw the twins. I ran up to them and hugged them both.

"Hey Kase." They both said. "Oh my gosh you filled out more." Jeck said as he took my bag. "You did what have they been feeding you?" Hyde asked.

"Everyday food. I got a after school job at this ranch once I got there and I guess it's mostly muscle." I told them as we approached my truck!!! "Slinger's been missin' you. Luckily Kade's been taking great care of her." Jeck said as he put my duffle in the back seat.

I remember the day perfectly. Kade hugged and kissed me before I had to board my flight. I gave him the keys to my truck and hurried to make the flight.

Hyde gave me the keys and I ran around to get in the driver side. They got in and I started the engine. I pulled out of the parking lot and hit the highway.

Once we reached town I turned off on a backroad and rolled the windows down. Backroad song by granger smith came on. I turned the radio up and we sang along with it.

We pulled up to Chad's and he ran out and jumped in. "Can't believe it's summer already." He said. We went over to Alex's then Josh's. They both ran out and hopped into the bed.

Next to Kade's. I told them except for Kade. "Good thing we just told him we had to borrow it for." I hit a huge mud puddle and mud went all over Hyde before he could finish.

"Wooh. That's filth there." Chad said as he looked at Hyde. I got a little on the back window on the inside but it will clean.

We pulled up to his house. Kaleb was sitting outside. "Where's your brother?" Jeck asked him. "Room." Kaleb hollered back. "Tell him to hurry." Jeck called.

Kaleb ran into the house then a few minutes later Kade came out. He looked more muscular than when I left. Jeck got out and moved to the bed. Kade gave him an odd look.

"Dude just get in the cab." Jeck told him. Kade shook his head and opened the door and got in. He closed the door and watched out the window.

I backed up a little then hit the brakes hard. He looked over and a look of shock appeared on his face. "So where are we off to?" I asked the guys. "Pond." They replied.

I backed up and drove to the pond we usually fish and swim in. Once there we all got out. I was about to start for the pond when I was pulled back and my lips connected with another's. I knew it was Kade by the way he kissed me.

Once we broke he rested his forehead on mine. We were both panting for air. "I've been waiting to do that since you left." He said.

His cheeks turned red. Even though it was still hard to see that under the tanness of his face. "Come on love birds the waters fine." We turned around just before Chad jumped into the water butt naked.

Oh ho ho. I so forgot, not. "How bout we jump in together?" Kade asked. "Mm. No." I said before running off. Man it's good to be back.

I quickly got out of my clothes not caring that we were all nude. In all honesty we just grew up a little bit more than when we were ten.

I jumped into the water before Kade could even come out from behind the tree. The guys cheered as I came up. The water was so murky it didn't go below the rise of my chest.

"Come on dude your the only one we're waiting on." One of them called out. "Yeah and how am I supposed to get to the rock?" Kade asked. "Dude. Just go." I yelled. "Says the one that has actually seen my bare butt." He said.

"Hey that was over two years ago." I told him. "Dude instead of kissing her you should have been stripping." Hyde called. Kade jumped out into the water. I felt something grab my ankle before he came up beside me.

"Stop doing that." I said before splashing him. He shook his head while chuckling. Every time we go swimming he thinks he has to grab one of my ankles.

"How else am I supposed to get my enjoyment out by seeing you jump?" He asked. I splashed him again. Then giggled. "Oh your so good to get it." He said before diving for me. I swam backwards as he went under the water.

I stopped then screamed when he grabbed my sides. He put his arms around me and pulled me right into his chest. Luckily he knew better than to let something touch me.

"You really changed since you left." He told me. "So have you." I told him. He kissed my cheek before letting me go. "Just leave the love birds be their to wrapped up in, I missed you so much we should only stare into each other's eyes and kiss." Chad laughed.

While he was too busy making fun of me missing Kade he didn't know I snuck up behind him. I pushed down on his shoulders and then his head dunking him.

He came up almost sputtering water. The rest of us laughed. Once we were done swimming one of the guys went and got beach towels out of the backseat. How they got there is beyond me.

We sat around in just the towels talking about anything. "So are you going to be at the baseball game tonight." Josh asked as he laid sideways. "You know I wouldn't miss any of the games left." I told him.

The rest were laid out on the rocks wrapped in towels too. Kade sat up and moved closer to me. He pulled me into his leg, wrapped his arms around me and set his chin on my shoulder.

"Man it's going to be hard for you two when she has to go back to Houston at the end of the summer." Alex said shaking him head. "Dude let's worry bout it when that gets here." Josh told him.

"It's our senior year and we probably won't see her again." Alex told him. "I know don't bring it up." Josh said. "I'll see if I can come up for spring break." I told them.

"That would be great." Kade whispered in my ear. "You guys would get to see me probably one last time before you start college." I told them.

"But what if we want to see you during the summer?" Alex pouted. "I don't know if I can." I replied. They looked like hurt puppies.

"I'll try my hardest to come back during the summer." I told them. Once we were dry we got dressed and loaded back into my truck. "Let's get our gear and get over to the baseball field." Jeck said.

I drove to each of their houses along the way and the grabbed their baseball gear and uniforms. Then grabbed a quick bite to eat then went to the field. The guys changed into their baseball uniforms and Kade gave me his wallet for snacks and drinks.

I wished the guys luck and found a seat. After the second inning Kade texted asking for a water and so did the rest of the guys. Six waters, I did it last year for freshman year.

I bought the six waters and carried them to the team dugout. I gave them their waters and went back to my seat. I watched as each of them took turns batting.

When the teams switched I was surprised to see Kade pitching. The rest of the guys were stationed around the field. I watched every motion Kade made as he pitched.

Once the game was over we all went out to get milkshakes at sonic. We ordered ours and sat on the sides and tailgate. A person came out with our shakes and they were passed around.

We finished them then went home. Kade and I both got showers before getting into his bed and sleeping on our own sides....... until he pulled me to his chest.
