Scott and I sit at the dining room table a play cards for hours with Beyoncé blasting so loud I'm surprised our neighbors didn't say anything about it. After about seven games of something or other, I see Scott's eyes start to droop.
"Do you want to go to bed?" I yell over the music. He nods and drops his cards in a messy pile that I determine I will clean up later. He stands up and walks to our bedroom while I turn down the music before following him. When I get in, I don't see him.
"Scotty? Where are you?" I flop lazily onto the bed and a shriek which soon turns to giggles comes from my mouth as he dives on top of me.
"Hi. I'm right here."
"Can we cuddle?" My eyes are now falling shut, heavy with exhaustion.
"Of course." He brushes a little bit of my hair back and rolls off of me so we can properly cuddle. I burrow into his side and he wraps his arms tightly around me.
"Can I ask you something? A few things, actually."
"Sure. Ask away."
"This is going to sound weird. Would you love me if I gained sixty pounds?"
"Of course I would." He kisses the top of my head.
"What about if I lost sixty?"
"I would still love you. I would be worried about you, for sure, but of course I would still love you."
"Or if I had no money?"
"The answer to any question you can throw at me will be yes. I will still love you."
"Even if I was broken and drunk and about to go home with some guy I didn't know?" I close my eyes.
"Do you remember when we fell in love?"
*Flashback*
I sit in the first bar I could find and down another vodka shot. The scene from less than an hour ago plays in my head.
"Chris, I'm home." It was a long day at work and I just wanted to go home and spend time with my boyfriend. I walked into our bedroom and found him tangled up in the sheets with another guy. I just remember throwing something heavy at them and storming out to find a bar, where I am now. After more shots than I can remember, some guy comes up to me and starts whispering in my ear. Being as drunk as I am, I blindly agree to go home with him. Outside the building, he pushes me up against a wall and slams his lips against mine before sticking his hand in my pants. I try to shove him back, but he is stronger than me and the alcohol running through me is slowing my movements as it is. I try to scream for help as he pushes himself closer to me. A few seconds he is pulled away and being thrown to the ground. There is some yelling, some shoving, maybe some punching, but I am now crouched against the wall with my eyes shut and my face in my hands. Tears are flowing freely down my cheeks as the weight of the day falls on me hard. A second later I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up to see the familiar blond swoop and the beautiful blue eyes hovering over me and break down in my best friend's arms.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Come on, I'll take you home."
"I-I don't know where to go." I say, realizing that I can't go home to Chris.
"Do you want to stay at my place for the night?" The tone in his voice makes me feel safe, so I nod.
*End flashback*
"Yes, of course I do."
"What do you call that?"
"Broken and drunk and about to go home with some guy I didn't know." I say with a small smile. "I love you."
"I love you more."
"Literally impossible." I mumble before falling asleep.

I swear these chapters will get longer once Thanksgiving is over. Maybe there will be another chappy later to make up for it, I'm not sure. Happy Thanksgiving y'all!
