Chapter 9

Skye's POV

Lately Sean has been distant.  Every time I try to spark up a conversation or arrange a date he's short and eager to stop the conversation. Something must be wrong because he's never like this! I miss my sweet Sean! I've got to get to the bottom of this! I walk over to Kaylee to get her advice.

"Hey Skye what's with the sad face?" She asks.

"Sean's been super distant lately, like he doesn't want to be around me or talk to me. He doesn't answer my calls or texts and I'm beginning to feel like I did something wrong." I say.

"Skye I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong!" She reassures me. "But that does sound weird. Sean never acts like that towards his girlfriends or anybody for that matter." Which brings me right back down to where I was.

"Well what do I do Kayles? I don't want to push him into talking about something yet I want to know why he's acting like this!" I say frustrated.

"I say give it a couple days, don't talk to him or call him, just let this run its course. I'm sure he's just going through a rough patch and will be back to normal in no time!" Kaylee says.

That makes me feel a little better but not much! "Thank you Kaylee! It really helps to get that off my chest!" I say and hug her

"No problem Skye that's what a best friend does!" She says while hugging me back.

I decide to head up to my room to take a nap and relax but as I'm about to head up the stairs I run into Danielle. "Oh I'm sorry Danielle I didn't see you standing there!" I apologize hoping she doesn't freak out.

"It's alright." She says in a calm voice. "I overheard you talking to Kaylee about Sean..." She says.

"Oh you did? Well it was nothing! All cleared up now!"I say beginning to sweat.

"It sure didn't sound like nothing to me! I've known Sean since we were in diapers and I know why he's acting this way." She said.

"Well what is it?!" I ask wanting to know.

"He only acts this way when he's hiding something big. A secret he doesn't want anyone else to know. My guess is he's- oh never mind! You don't want to know what I think!" She said turning to walk away.

"Wait! No I do want to know!" I said stopping her.

"Fine but remember you asked for this... I think he's... Cheating." She said with a devious look.

"Cheating?!" I said. I would have fell over if I hadn't caught myself on the banister. "But why? He's so sweet and caring! How can I trust you?! You've been mean to me ever since I got here!"

"Sean and I dated for a long time Skye! You don't have to believe me but I know a lot about him. Probably more than he knows about himself!" She said walking away. "Have a great day Skye!"

What am I going to do? Can I even trust Danielle? She's been so rude to me. But she has known Sean for a long time... No Skye! Why would Sean cheat on you?! I'll keep this to myself till I find out more information. Until then I'll take Kaylees advice and leave him along for the next 3 days. After that I'm going to talk to him and get this sorted out!
