Lynn was on her way to lunch with Rachel and one of their "kind of friends". Danielle was a friend of Rachel's, but Lynn didn't always like her. Sometimes Danielle could get a bit, dramatic. As Lynn walked to the large entrance to the rather large room with tables placed all over the floor, students flooding in to get to their seats before someone else did.
Rachel appeared out of no where next to Lynn. "Hey, gal." She said to Lynn, smirking to her with her bag hanging at her side, some books in her hand.
"Hi." Lynn looked around the cafeteria. Their school was different then how she first imagined it to be. Instead of people sitting in the same spot everyday, the students liked to mess with the regulars heads. Lynn searched the room for an empty table. "We aren't sitting with Daniel again are we?"
Rachel glared at her. "It's Danielle. And yes, we are." Lynn rolled her eyes and nodded, searching for Danielle's bright red hair.
"Hey guys!" Lynn jumped at the high pitch voice right between Rachel and her ears. She turned to glare at Danielle who was smiling at Rachel.
Rachel pulled a strained smile. "Hey." Returning her gaze to the full room most likely looking for a seat.
"I think I see a table over there." Lynn says, pointing to the far corner where student gangs hung out usually. Rachel nodded and made her way over with Lynn closely trailing behind. Danielle zoning out before catching up with them. As Lynn walked by the basketball team's table, Alex, one of the players, looked up to stare at her as she walked by.
Lynn ignored his stare and made her way to sit next to Rachel who had just sat down.
"Oh my word! Alexander was just staring at you!!" Danielle sang. Her eyes full of stars as she looked back at Alex at his table only a few away from them.
"Yeah, and?" Rachel said, speaking for Lynn.
"You two could totally date!" Danielle nearly screamed. "We should all hook up with one of the players! We would be squad goals!"
"...Uh. I don't think so." Lynn said, her face practically pale as Danielle talked on and on.
Rachel sighed and rolled her eyes. "Danielle, I doubt Lynn is up for that. I might be," She smirked. "but I have quite the busy schedule."
Danielle snickered. "Sure. I might take up my own offer and go for Samuel."
"What's with you and using their full names?" Rachel asked as Lynn took out one of the snack bars she kept in her bag during school days.
Danielle grinned. "I think it's more proper." She rested her chin on her hand with her elbow on the table, gazing at the players-literally. "Maybe it'll impress them." She shrugged.
"Highly doubted." Lynn cut into her fantasy.
Danielle glared and then smiled kindly at Lynn. "When's the last time you dated someone, Lynn?"
Danielle didn't wait long enough for Lynn to answer. "Exactly. So you wouldn't know how to impress a boy. Even if you tried."
Lynn put her snack bar down. "I take that as a challenge."
Danielle smirked at her, dotting her fingers in a pattern along the table, making her nails drum. "Hmm."
Rachel rolled her eyes and watched the two. She found it entertaining to watch the two go at each other, especially if it meant challenges, technically dares to Rachel.
"You don't seem to be the type to accept challenges?" Danielle said questionably.
Lynn grinned. "I like to have a little challenge every now and then."
"Lynn can be a dare angel sometimes." Rachel butt in.
Danielle nodded. "Well, then. Lynn. I challenge you to make..." She turned her head towards the basketball player's table. "Let's go with... Alexander, Wyatt, or Laurence."
"What?" Lynn froze when she said Wyatt's name. She looked over to the table to see him sitting along with his friends who were also on the team. She never noticed him there before.
"Get one to ask you to homecoming." Danielle turned back to Lynn, grinning wide. "Pick one of the three to impress enough to take you to homecoming."
Lynn nodded and looked over to the table. Wyatt would be easier because she could just tell him about it and he would probably take her.. even though they pretty much just met. Alexander would most likely take her, but he might want more then a date to a dance and Lynn hated turning people down. And Laurence. Well, she hasn't even heard of him, so he was a no.
"Wyatt." Lynn said, returning her gaze back to Danielle.
Danielle clapped a little, cheering, making a few other people look over. "Perfect! Now, for the rules."
Great. Lynn thought.
"Rule one! You can not mention this challenge or tell them to ask you." Danielle started.
"Rule two should be that you can't ask them yourself. That's just cheating." Rachel added in, smirking as she took the rest of Lynn's snack bar and took a bite.
"Yes! And, rule three! No hinting, tempting, or pushing. You can't hint at the dance, tempt him to ask you, or push him to. Basically like rule one. And, no changing the guy!" Danielle blabbered.
"Fine." Lynn said, rolling her eyes.
Danielle smiled and reached her hand out to Lynn. "It's just like a regular friendship. Don't push it. Have fun and may the odds be ever in your favor."
Lynn hesitantly shook her hand.
"You did not just quote a Hunger Games line." Rachel groaned. Danielle giggled and nodded.
"Yep!" She chimed. The bell soon rang and the students exited the cafeteria. Rachel linking arms with Lynn as the headed out to their next class.
"You sure about this?" Rachel asked her quietly.
Lynn nodded. "I wont lose this challenge- eh, dare. I can't ruin my streak."
Rachel nodded and gave her a pat, unlinking arms. "Whatever you say, champ."
Lynn watched her walk down the hall. She thought about ways to get close to Wyatt to spend more time. This would take strategy and patience, and the only person she could think of to ask for help would be the last generation dare angel as Rachel says.
Jammie.
