Lynn sat on the soft light blue sofa, running her hand over the cushion, almost addicted to the texture. Wyatt sat beside her, his arms crossed as his mother ran around in the kitchen. Jammie has been waiting for so long for Wyatt to get a girlfriend, so she can have a daughter of some sort. Lynn's appearance got her hopes up.

"Babe, I think you need to calm down.." Austyn said, putting his hand on the small of Jammie's back as she checked the cookies she currently cooked for her 'celebration'.

"Calm down? Apple, do not tell a girl to calm down, it'll make her more frantic. And, no, my honey boy has a special girl now! We have to celebrate!" Jammie said, Lottie grinning widely as she leaned against the counter. Wyatt's cheeks reddened as Lynn eyed him, a small smile forming on her lips as she did so, earning an eye roll from Wyatt.

"She's not his girlfriend, James. She's his friend." Austyn said to his wife, almost getting annoyed with how childish she acted nowadays.

Jammie gave him a side glace and then looked to Wyatt who sat on the couch next to Lynn, just in the next room. Looking back to Austyn she smacked his arm.

"Don't give me that look." She scolded.

Austyn smirked, standing straighter and eyeing her up. "What look?"

Jammie smiled at his posture and went back to checking the cookies. "The look that says, 'You are incredibly stupid'." She said, mimicking his voice.

"I do not sound like that."

Wyatt sighed and ran his hand through his hair, letting his legs stretch out infront of him.

"I'm sorry, my parents can be.." He searched for the right words. "Childlike sometimes. Almost like they never made it to their fifties." Wyatt joked, making his voice louder as he spoke for them to hear.

Jammie whirled around to glare at her son. "You take that back right now young man!"

Austyn coughed to hide his laugh, "Yeah, listen to your mother."

Wyatt laughs as he spoke, "That doesn't even make sense, Dad."

When his parents went back to arguing over some silky thing, Lynn smiled at them and shrugged, looking to Wyatt now.

"It's cool. I'd like to have parents like yours." She said quietly, shifting uncomfortably on the couch. Wyatt nodded and smiled a bit.

"What did you come over for again?" Wyatt asked, scratching at his head.

"Oh, right. Um.. Nothing really. I just wanted some, advice, from your mom. But she seems busy." Lynn quickly stood. "And I have to get home for my brother, and other stuff.."

Wyatt watched her with wide eyes at the sudden mood change. "Oh, uh, okay. I'll walk you to the door."

Lynn nodded as he got up and walked with her to the door before his parents could notice their absence. Wyatt opened the front door for her, allowing her to exit onto the front porch.

"I'll see you, tomorrow then?" He asked. Lynn looked at him weirdly. "At the café I mean.." He scratched his head awkwardly. "I need my usual meal everyday. It's a thing now."

Lynn blushed slightly and nodded. "Right. Yeah, I guess."

"I'll see ya' then." He said, giving a small wave as she turned around to walk off, Wyatt closing the door.

Lynn didn't know how she felt about him that made her feel so awkward or uncomfortable in his presence, but she knew that would have to change if she was going to make any progress with the dare. She needed to get to talk to Wyatt's mom alone, and soon.
