"Goodness gracious.." Lynn muttered as she scrubbed the dirty plate in front of her. The warm soapy water making her hands crinkle from the long period of time she washed the dishes. She had to fill in for the dishwasher since they couldn't make it to work due to some family matter.

Now Lynn was stuck with it.

Rachel walked into the kitchen and smirked at her. "I see you're having fun."

Lynn glared harder at the plate in her hand. "If there is something I love more then this job, it's definitely washing the dishes. I'm just so happy I got a chance to do it."

Rachel laughed. "Well, I'm glad the boss could help you out with that."

Lynn looked at Rachel and then frowned. "I need a break and fresh air. Can you... Fill in for me for like, five minutes?"

"Sure. Fine." Rachel huffed, walking over to take Lynn's place. Lynn smiled widely and dried her hands quickly, running out to the front and getting the breeze of the heater plugged into the wall.

Sighing in delight, Lynn noticed Wyatt sitting at his normal place, watching her as she took in the open space.

Lynn couldn't help but smile as she walked over to him. "Hey." She said, plopping down on the booth across from him.

"Why, hello." Wyatt chirped. "Just the girl I wanted to see."

Lynn's heart fluttered. "Yeah? What do you need?"

"Food."

Lynn rolled her eyes and slouched. "Ugh, what do you want." Wyatt smirked and watched her expressions change so quickly in a matter of seconds.

"Just a basket of fries. That's all."

"Alright. I'll be right back."

Lynn stood and put the order in for the chef. The Friday seemed to be a slow one for the Cafe, so Wyatt and an old man were the only two customers they've had all day, making Lynn and Rachel not have to rush so much.

When Lynn was about to walk back out to Wyatt with his order when she saw Danielle, of all people, sitting with Wyatt.

Ugh, what now..

"Hey Wyatt!" Danielle cheered.

Wyatt smiled politely. "Hi."

"So are you going to the dance tomorrow?" She asked out of the blue. Lynn's fingers tightened around the finished basket of fries.

"Uh, yeah I guess. I haven't asked anyone though. Not yet." He said, chuckling a bit, moving his position to a more relaxed one.

"Oh! Same! Maybe we could go together." Danielle suggested. Lynn glared deadly stares at Danielle's head.

Didn't she know she liked Wyatt?

Couldn't she tell?

Lynn took a long look at the silent Wyatt. She wanted him to ask her. Noticing how badly she did in this moment. She grew angry with Wyatt and especially Danielle.

"Maybe." Wyatt said, his normal friendly smile covering his features.

Turning back to walk into the kitchen, Lynn grabbed the salt and made sure to add a little extra to the fries. With some pepper..

She forcefully picked up the basket and walked out in a huff, basically throwing the fries on the table, causing them to slide infront of a now slightly frightened Wyatt. Some fries fell out of the basket, now laying on the table. Lynn looked to Danielle who seem just as surprised to see her.

"Oh hi, Lynn! Me and Wyatt were just talking abo—" Danielle started.

"I know I heard. Congrats on a date to the dance Danielle. The proposal sounded very romantic. Wyatt, why didn't you tell me you were planning to go with Danielle to the dance? I could have helped with the asking."

Wyatt watched Lynn with a confused expression. He soon realised what she meant and shook his head.

"No, Lynn we were just discussing it. It's not for sure." Wyatt countered. "I was planning on asking—"

"Oh, don't say that! You know how rude that is, Wyatt?" Lynn eyed Danielle and then glared back at Wyatt. "She's right there you know."

Wyatt shook his head, a goofy smile taking over his earlier scowl. He picked up a fry and popped it in his mouth, Lynn smirking wickedly. The sound of Wyatt's coughing later made Lynn full of joy. Even though he didn't officially ask Danielle or say they were going together, she felt like he deserved it in a way. Feeling like he was supposed to ask her to the dance, and when he said maybe to Danielle, she felt like he did something wrong.

Lynn's complicated like that.

Wyatt cleared his throat, his face completely red and his eyes watering. "Too. Much. Salt.."

"Oh! My mistake.." Lynn said in the cheeriest voice as possible, smiling at him while he glared up at her from under his lashes.

She then said, "People make mistakes." Patting Wyatt's shoulder she finished her speech. "Good thing mistakes can be fixed. I'll tell the chef to make another basket for ya' pal."

With that, she walked away with a smirk from a wide-eyed Danielle, a angry looking Wyatt, and a very, very, salty basket of fries.
