"I don't really understand that." Lynn admitted, their conversation leading off the main topic of the homework.

"What don't you understand?" Wyatt asked.

"I mean.. Hitler wanted power right? Or did he just want to get rid of all the Jews?" She asked.

Wyatt thought about it for a bit. "I guess both. I never really paid attention to that lesson." He leaned back in his seat, folding his arms across his chest.

Lynn nodded and shrugged. "I'm just saying that, I don't understand how one wants so much power in a country, but puts majority of the people in places where they are bound to die. How do you have power if you have no people to have power over?"

"Thanks actually pretty interesting.." Alex mumbled. "I haven't really thought about it that way."

Wyatt shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe he only wanted power over certain people."

Lynn looked to him and leaned over the table. "That wouldn't make sense. He only killed and enslaved the Jews right? Why only them? Why not any other religion believers?"

Wyatt smirked and leaned forward to bring himself closer to Lynn.

"Maybe he had something against them."

Lynn blushed and shook her head. "They weren't harmful. They were just normal people with rights to believe in what they wanted."

Alex shook his head and laughed a bit, leaning forward to rest his elbows on the table. "Don't speak as if you know for sure, Lynn. We weren't alive then, we couldn't know for sure."

"Alex is right, Lynn-y-poo." Wyatt stated, leaning back again. "How would you know?"

Lynn glared at him, thinking to herself, Lynn-y-poo? What?

Alex seemed just as confused. "Maybe we should drop the topic." Alex advised.

"I sincerely want to know now." Lynn muttered, turning to look over her shoulder, checking on Henry who still played his game. Totally oblivious.

Wyatt smirked. "Well, I have to go to the bathroom. Don't hurt poor Alex with questions he doesn't know the answer to while I'm gone." He said to Lynn, standing with a wink in her direction.

When Wyatt was gone, Alex awkwardly scratched the back of his head and looked around the room. Lynn kept her gaze on the table and pretended to read her homework.

"Hey, Lynn?" She heard Alex's voice cut into her intense gaze, causing her head to flick up.

"Yeah?" She answered.

"That dance is coming up, and I thought you might be interested in going with me, maybe? If you're free." He asked, his cheeks darkening in color as the words left his mouth.

"Oh, um," Lynn heard the bathroom door open, causing her to freeze.

Say yes! You have already won the dare! Danielle will be totally jealous.

"I- Uh.." Lynn stuttered and failed to get the words out. She wanted Wyatt to ask her..

"Well, Alex.. I'm going to have to say no thank you.. Not that I have anything against you, it's just, I was hoping someone else would ask me."

Alex seemed to be hurt by her truthful responce, but he nodded. "It's cool. I didn't think you would be interested in something like that anyways.." He said, trying to brush it off.

"Sorry.." She said, barely above a whisper.

Way to make things awkward.

Wyatt walked back into the room suddenly, the biggest smile on his face as he sat down.

"What did I miss?" He asked, smirking at Lynn and eyeing Alex. He seemed to be in a brighter mood.

"Why are you guys acting weird now?" He tried another question, his heavy gaze now on Lynn's bright cherry face.

"N-Nothing.." She said unevenly. "I think we finished now, I have to get Henry to bed. You guys better go."

Wyatt's smiled faltered and Alex stood, collecting his things. Lynn hesitated, but stood and walked into the other room to tell Henry to finish up and then go to bed.

A little bit later, she walked back into the kitchen, Wyatt standing there with his bag in his hand.

"You alright?" He asked, Alex already out the door, seeming to be more offended or angry than before.

Lynn nodded. "I'm fine, just tired I guess."

He nodded and kept quiet for a bit. "I'll see you tomorrow, then?"

She raised an eyebrow and looked to him. "We don't have school, it's closed because they are decorating for the dance Saturday night."

He nods. "I know. I figured you worked, so I was going to stop by."

Her face flushed and she nodded, mumbling an 'okay' to him. Wyatt walked out and silently closed the door behind him. Lynn put Henry to bed and cleaned up her stuff in the kitchen, her mind wandering.

Maybe he does like me.. At least a little. She thought.
