"Ms.Linton!"

A cheerful call leaves the mouth of the man in the tiger waistcoat. He had spent enough time with his hand on his speck of a beard, admiring her from afar.

"Captain Carter! I didn't expect to see you here!" the simple brunette exclaimed as she took in the appearance of her (probably only) male friend. "I thought you were abroad. Didn't you tell me you had to patrol the trade route between Britain and Somalia?"

The young man's heart softened at the lady's memory of him. She remembers these minuscule details then she must have some sort of feelings towards me.

"Well I was supposed to be gone for 2 more years but one of our naval ships accidentally collided with the pirates and were able to take them down."

The lass just smiled before her big, brown eyes got a mischievous twinkle in them. "Well we must surely celebrate then, what do you say? Unfortunately our gracious host was unable to serve us the delectable and festive solid chocolates but there is a shop nearby. I hear they have the most marvelous concoction of a cafe mocha, which I hear is an ingenious mixture of chocolate and coffee. What do you think?"

The captain's confident stature faltered but he managed to flash an equally mischievous grin at the object of his affections. "I say I am feeling a little stuffy in here. Might as well take a stroll for some fresh air outside."

Lilly laughed as she started determinedly towards the door. The young captain was too busy chasing after his crush to notice a pair of steel blue eyes glaring his way.

As the pair entered the chocolate shop, they were greeted by an inviting aroma of chocolate, a blanket of warmth that had set in the store, and a furious pair of stormy blue eyes glaring at the two of them.

"Lillian!"

His voice was smooth and quiet but managed to scream louder than any commands James had ever received.

"Rick." Lilly's disappointed voice floated over, snapping the dazed captain out of his confused state.

"I have repeatedly told you that you may not consume any form of caffeine throughout your condition. You continue to ignore me and forget about her health!"

The man had now taken a more agitated expression. Regardless of his stony, but definitely sharp and handsome, visage, the man had still kept a soft look in his eyes as he addressed the lady in front of him.

"He-" she sharply hissed as she glared at the man," was the one who was craving it. I am just trying to comply with his wishes so he doesn't kick me to death."

"If it got that bad you should've told me! You know I can help with that." The man's voice never wavered but seemed to have softened.

"You were so busy I didn't want to interrupt."

James turned to see his lady looking guiltily at the man with glistening eyes.

Suddenly the intruder stormed forward and gathered the crying girl in his arms. He didn't seem bothered with it but instead, he looked more relieved.

"Never, never, think that I won't have time for you. Since what happened in Argentina, I can't ever do that to you. You are the most important and she is the second most."

So 'Rick' bent down and pressed his lips to the, now quiet, woman's temple. In return she shyly looked up before pressing her lips to the center of his throat.

After creeping on the couple for a few more seconds, the third wheeler exclaimed, "What is this? Who are you and what is your relation with her?"

This caused the pair to turn to him, Lilly still tucked comfortably into Rikkard's arm.

The once soft look instantly disappeared as he stared at the...man who was with his woman.

"I am Rikkard Ambrose, Lillian's husband. I'm helping her with her condition."

James' mind dazed for a moment as he took in Rikkard's words. His heart hurt but he bravely asked, "What condition?"

Before Lilly could answer, Rikkard stepped in, "Lillian is with child. My child."

And the young captain felt his first heartbreak. Now as he looked at the love of his life, he could see the glow in her skin and her round abdomen more clearly, which he previously assumed as to be her chocolate obsession getting to her. Not that he minded, he loved her, not only her gorgeous looks.

He sucked in a deep breath before putting on a fake smile, "Congratulations Ms.Linton, or should I say Mrs.Ambrose. I hope you and your husband are very happy with your life. I just realized I had to talk to the Lieutenant so I shall get going. Good night."

As the heartbroken man walked away, he saw the reflection of the love of his life and the richest man in Britain as said man dropped to his knees to press his lips against his wife's stomach. From outside the shop the captain could hear the bickering of the couple inside.

"Him."

"Her."

"Him."

"Her."

"Hi-"

And the sounds that followed afterwards just caused Captain Carter to walk faster. He reached his hand in his pocket and took out the small object.

As he rolled the engagement ring on his palm, he gently released a bitter laugh, "So much for your happily ever after"

HELLO! IT IS I, RAISA, AND I HAVE WRITTEN MY FIRST FANFICTION! It might seem really sad but when it comes to my OTP, Lilly and Rikkard, I can't let anyone in the way, not even my baby Captain Carter. Look in the brightside, he will now be free to be our communal bae! (P.S. That is a term my friends and I use to refer to my friend's crush)
