CHAPTER 4 : Protected.

RECAP :

I slowly took off my hood and lower my scarf.

I heard a few gasps.

" Hello. My name is Minvera. "

******************************

A disguise. One of a few methods to distant yourself from other people.

Another method is to just lock yourself from the world. Which clearly did not worked out, for me. Ugh, such a disappointment.

That moment, when I exposed myself , I felt a gigantic burden lifting up from me. But in that same time, I felt another burden that was trying to push me down. Of course there would be another, I agreed to sacrifice my life for a bunch of strangers.

" I thought you said that you were not the race of men? "

Balin questioned.

" I never said that. "

" Yes you did. "

Balin looked at me accordingly as if he was judging if I had lost my mind.

" No, I said, I was not a man. Those are two different things, Balin."

" I thought they were the same thing. "

Ori said meekly.

I rolled my eyes in disbelief. I could not believed them. Did they seriously thought I was a man the whole time ?

" Men and man are different. Look, I clearly do not have decent knowledge but, what I do know that those two words are different. Men means the race, and man, means the gender."

" And I thought I was the fool."

" Did all of you thought I was a man the whole time ? "

I said while gritting my teeth. I looked at every single one of them and gave them a glare.

" Well, we knew that you were somewhat the race of men. But we did not expect a.."

Kili started talking. He didn't finished his sentence but I had quite the idea what he was going to say.

" A female? "

" Uh, yeah."

" Typical. Just typical."

" Can you believe this? "

I looked at Tauriel. I was hoping she would back me up.

Unfortunately, she just looked away and shrugged. So much for back up.

" What is wrong with me being a female ?"

I still was not sastified. I wanted more answers. Ugh. Depressions.

" We did not expect a female mortal to be in the woods. Usually they would not stay at places like this."

One of the dwarves explained. I know, I know. I forggoten who it was. Imagine learning 16 names at once.

" Well, I exposed myself. Now what? "

I said impatiently. I could not wait to get out. But that was not the main reason. I was scared another pack of wolves would come. The sun was already set. And we were losing light.
