CHAPTER 1 :
It's not even possible.
Winter. It was a season that I was most fond of. The chilly breeze that makes you shiver, the slippery ice that makes you ingured, and the terrible frostbites that make you want to give up on your body.
It surely is not the most perfect season, but it is most certain, indirectly, to make you strenghten up for the next time. All those misfortunes you have to face, they are there to make you stronger. And that was what I wanted. To be stronger.
" Ugh, stupid fire won't even lit."
It was only a mater of time before winter arrived. All the animals were making their own preperations for hibernation. Heck, even the trees were prepared. The leaves of brown and yellow were covering the autumn ground.
" Winter is approaching and I can't even start up a stupid fire. This is seventeen years before all over again-"
Seventeen years. The indistinct memory rarely crossed my mind. A single thought of what happened that night emerge the darkness I felt once again.
Besides, who would you talk to in the middle of the forest. The animals weren't any better, they would scatter off whenever they see me. I wonder why.
Everything I did was independent. Not that I were to complain, it was relatively better this way.
" Ugh,Ugmm."
I cleared my thoart loudly. Which was pointless because there was no living thing that can actually communicate with me.
"Ok then, let's change the subject."
But yes, it was lonely.
I added more leaves to the pile of firewood in front of me. Both of my hands started struggling on creating a spark using the rocks I found nearby.
" Alright then. Let's start all over again shall we? First gather the firewood in one place, then take two stones to make a spark, then-"
" RUN !"
" Then, run? "
The corollary of not having living beings that talk language that I understood periodically, caused the stupid little brain of mine to not exactly adapt quickly to situations like this.
" QUICKLY, BEFORE THEY FIND US ! "
I clicked my tounge.
" Right. New victims. I think I can try to lit a bonfire later. "
I got up and brushed off the dirt on my clothing. Though honestly, it didn't really do much to begin with. What I was wearing presumably had worse material than a horse hat. Not that I had ever worn one.
" Alright then, where did I put that scarf ? "
The tattered wool scarf was an invaluable piece to me. Even if it didn't gave me enough warmth that I always seemed for, the sentimental value of it made me hold it very dearly. The scarf was the last physical item that reminded me of him.
( AN : Hey, quick question. Any of you guys watch anime? If you do, can you guess what anime inspired me for the scarf idea ? It's quite popular. :D)
" Time to get some victims. "
If you were wondering, most of the time I actively spent in the forest was happen to be just capturing whoever came in here. It had been a small routine actually.
