Old Friend

I woke with a start. I couldn't believe he would be the one to take the one I love away from me, yet no one I knew seemed more likely to. I knew that it was for the best but something about him made me not okay with it.
I got up, and got a beer out of the mini fridge, then sat on the couch and cracked it open. I sat there for a few minutes then pulled out my phone, and stared at the number. Ryan's number. Then a tracking spell came to mind.
I called the number and waited. I didn't need him to pick up I just needed to hear his phone go off, then I could create a path right to him.
It was a simple ring tone, but I heard it none the less. I concentrated all my energy and just like that it appeared. People had told me I was a prodigy, but I had never believed it.
I followed the path to a bigger house, two stories. The door was locked so I broke the handle and walked right in. He was standing in the staircase, carrying Y/N in his arms.
"Hello old friend." I said a smirk on my face.
"Knew you were coming as soon as you called. You're faster than I thought."
"And you're slower." I said still smirking. I knew that he knew he was screwed.
"I thought you said you'd leave her be as long as she was safe."
"She's not safe with you." the smirk left my face, and I let the anger show through.
"Still haven't forgiven me, or are you just jealous?" he was smirking now.
"Don't act like you don't know why I don't trust you. Also what is there to be jealous of?"
"I'm an angel, Brendon. You're a demon. Are we really having this conversation?"
I walked up the stairs and he ran up to the second floor.
   "Scared Ry?" I taunted.
He stood in the hall holding her in his arms still.
   "Huh?" she mumbled.
"We don't have to do this the hard way, Ry. It'll be more fun, well
for me, but not for you, so just hand her over." I felt like I was talking to a brick wall, he wasn't even considering it.
"She's waking up. Why don't we let her decide her fate?"
"Because I don't trust what you've done not to effect her thoughts."
"What?" she said, more alert. Ryan set her down and she looked at both of us.
"Ryan Ross. Brendon Urie. Me. Huh. This is not how I would have thought this would play out a few months ago."
She remembers everything. All that was lost.
"Who do you want to go with Y/N?" Ryan questioned.
"Um...what? Why is- just-" she stuttered, and turned to me and starred.
"Y/N he's a demon who wants to do anything but good to you." he said, walking up behind her.
"And you are? Besides what does it matter to you? You don't know me." she never stopped starring at me, and she never turned around. Her eyes were so hard to read this time, which means I could only imagine all that was going through her head.
"I am an angel, and I care, because you are a good person and I am supposed to care for you. That is my job." he said kind of like her words had hurt him.
She turned around to him. I could feel the glare she was giving him, even from behind her. Suddenly on the table next to them, a flame ignited. It was a cross, and it had just bursted into flames.
   "Liar." was all she said.
   "How- wha-?" he sputtered.
"Does it matter?" she picked up the still burning cross and pointed it at him.
   "Now. The truth."
"I- I used to be an angel. A fallen angel. I could return to grace if I saved you from him."
"You sure have a twisted idea of saving someone." she said and turned to me and grabbed my hand, ready to leave, but Ryan opened his mouth again.
"Really? Look what happened to me." she stopped and turned to him.
"Wait. Okay. Fangirl moment sorry can't help it. So Ryden was real? Ha! I knew- I mean, but what the hell happened to you huh?" her fangirling was adorable but I had to keep a straight face.
"I'm a fallen angel because of him. His influence is strong especially when you're near him so much."
"Wait back it up." she said. It amazed me how she handling this.
"He- no he-" she turned to me.
"You really think I did this, don't you?" I felt a little hurt. Okay a lot hurt.
"No. Even if you did it still wasn't your fault. Though when did this happen?" I knew what she was referring to. When did I sign away my life.
"A little bit before 'too weird to live to rare to die'."
She turned to Ryan again, with a fire burning in her.
"He didn't do this you did something yourself. He wasn't around you when he had the capability to influence you or any of that shit. Enough lies. I want the truth."
He stepped up to her. "We all want a lot of things, sweetheart." he said putting his arm around her, and stroking her hair. I could feel something rising in me again.
"Brendon, calm down, it's fine. We were just about to leave anyway." I could feel her smirk as she said every word, though never once turning around to me. Though what unsettled me is that Ryan was smirking too, but not only with a look of someone who thought they'd win, but also as though he had something on his mind that really made it hard to calm down like Y/N said to.
"Your hammering heartbeat tells me you don't want to leave. You want to stay." his smirk was only seeming to become more and more permanent with every passing second.
"I do, though." she said with a calm voice, though what scared me is it sounded a little shaky, but I brushed it off.
"Go ahead, princess I'm not stopping you." he let go of her. "Just know when you leave you won't remember this. Not that you ever remembered me anyway."
"Don't need to." and she turned to me, and then walked down the stairs. I looked at Ryan.
"Just remember who will win, Ry." I warned.
"I know I will, no need to remind me, Bren."
I followed after Y/N and tried to ignore the feeling of dread in my stomache.
She was waiting at the door, staring at it. She didn't want to forget, but she wanted to leave. I didn't want her to forget either, but at the same I wanted her to more than anything.
