"Jacob Taylor Bixenman, today is the day you become a father!"

Jacob groaned in response at the bright tone of his friend, who had traveled from across the states to be there when the baby was born. Jacob reached blindly around the bed beside him, trying to find Troye, groaning again in annoyance when he found the bed empty.  "Hari, what time is it?" he asked, opening one eye to look at her.

"It's  almost nine, Jacob. Troye has been up with me since seven, and we have basically everything ready and in the car. So the only thing we are waiting for is you," she said, grabbing onto the end of the blankets and dragging them off of Jacob. "So get up before we leave without you!"

Jacob just groaned again, slowly making his way out of bed. "Lucky for me, you would not even be able to get him checked in without me."

"You should be excited! Hurry up before we're late!"

"I am excited," Jacob replied. "I'm just a bit scared, ya know? And mom is not here yet anyways, she'd flip if we went without her." When Jacob had posted the picture of Troye to his Facebook, the first response he had gotten had been from his mom, who was angry that she had not been notified of Troye's adoption or pregnancy. After many apologies she forgave Jacob, and made him promise that she would get to be there for the birth to help take care of Troye during his recovery. So between Hari and Jacob's mom, they had two women to help care for Troye, one of them having experience in taking care of babies.

"Actually, she is the one who sent me in to get you up. She got here an hour ago, and is just with Troye now."

That got Jacob moving faster, he had not seen his mom since the last Christmas. He hurried to pull on sweatpants and a shirt before hurrying out to the living room. Troye was obviously enjoying the company of the woman, pushing up into her hand as he scratched his ears. His eyes were closed and he did not notice when Jacob entered the room, but the second he did Troye's eyes flew open and he hurried over to greet him. "Hi-hi Jakey," he said with a smile, rubbing his head against Jacob's leg with a meow.

"G'morn, T," Jacob replied, patting Troye's curls. He walked past the neko who hurried to crawl after him, despite his huge tummy. "Hey mom," Jacob said, hugging the woman from behind. She looked up at him with a smile, calling Troye back over. Troye got onto the couch and beside the lady and she started to pet him again, Troye going right back to purring.

"Good morning Jacob," she replied. "You better get ready, otherwise Hari and I will be taking Troye ourselves."

"Lucky for me you can't do that," Jacob replied with a chuckle, walking to the kitchen to get a coffee. "I own this little munchkin, meaning only I can check him into the hospital."

"I'm sure we would find a way to get in," the lady replied, Troye giggling at their conversation.

"It's okay Jay," he said, "I would not want to go without you anyways."

Jacob grinned down at his neko, deciding to sit on the couch beside him, allowing Troye to lay his legs over his lap. "And I don't know what the hurry is, we don't need to be there for another hour at least."

"I don't understand how you are being so calm about this," Hari said, shaking her head as she sat in on the loveseat. "You are about to witness your first kid being born, and you're just calmly wandering around like it's nothing."

"Believe me, I'm anything but calm," Jacob replied, rubbing Troye's knee as the neko yawned and stretched.

"I'm calm," Troye said with a grin, looking up at Jacob with bright blue eyes. "I'm just excited to see this baby."
