Chapter 5

"Somebody 'ere!" Sebastian announced.

I carried my little foster brother to the door with me and opened it, screaming happily when is aw who it was.

The girls screamed happily as well, making Sebastian's hands fly to his ears. I set the toddler down and my best friends nearly tackled me in a hug.

"I've missed you guys so much!" I said.

"We've missed you too! It's not the same having Laundry Wars without you," Olive said.

I looked around, trying to see if Talia was with them.

Fiona understood and said, "She wanted to come, but has a cold so Ms. Martha wouldn't let her. You know how easily she gets sick."

I nodded.

They came in and stared in awe at the apartment.

Lin and Vanessa came out from the hallway and smiled. "You must be Jaelyn's friends. I'm Lin and this is my wife Vanessa. This is our son Sebastian," Lin introduced.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Fiona, and this is Olive, and the twins, Molly and Hailey," Fiona replied.

"C'mon! I'll show you my room!" I said and the girls followed me down the hall.

"What's it like here?" Molly asked.

We were sitting in my room on the floor in a circle.

"It's, well, amazing if I'm honest. Lin and Vanessa are so nice and they don't care about Carson. I mean, of course they care about keeping me safe, but well you get what I'm saying," I said and the girls laughed.

"What's it like back at the group home?" I asked.

"Bella got adopted, and there's a new kid who's mute. Ms. Martha said her name is Alice," Olive explained.

"Do you think they'll adopt you?" Hailey asked in a whisper.

I paused, considering this before saying, "I honestly don't know."

"Do you want them to?" Fiona questioned.

I paused again before smiling and nodding slightly.

The girls smiled.

A knock on my door made us turn as Lin poked his head in. "Sorry to disturb you ladies, but I was wondering if Jaelyn would like to take you to the theater tonight?"

I lit up and jumped up exclaiming, "Do you guys want to?"

"What is it?" Molly asked.

"Lin is in a musical about Alexander Hamilton," I explained and the girls lit up.

"And we can go?" Fiona asked.

I nodded and the girls jumped up, nodding and exclaimed, "Yes! Let's do it!"

Lin laughed and the girls followed us out.

We made it to the theater and Lin said, "Jae, why don't you introduce your friends to everyone? Renee, Pippa, and Jaz are going to be helping me in the Ham4Ham so you'll have to wait to introduce them."

"You guys want to meet everyone?" I asked.

The girls nodded and I took them around the theater, introducing them to everyone.

"Daveed?" I asked, poking my head into said man's dressing room. He, Oak, Thayne, and Anthony were currently playing some sort of game.

"Oh, hey, Jaelyn! What's up?" Daveed asked as I opened the door more.

"I didn't know if I could introduce you guys to my friends. They were my roommates at the group home," I said and the girls followed me in.

"'Course!" Anthony smiled.

I smiled and said, "Girls, this is Daveed, Oak, Thayne, and Anthony. Guys, this is Molly, Hailey, Olive, and Fiona."

"Nice to meet you!" Thayne smiled.

The girls soon had to leave, and a month passed before I saw them again.
