"Nora! For the last time, stop running in there!"

"But daddddd," Nora drawled, "Tony doesn't care, he's too busy drinking!" Clint rolled his eyes. Yes, Tony may have drunk himself to another world again, but it didn't mean that Nora got to use his lab as a playground.

"I don't care. Get out before you break something. Again." Nora let out a loud sigh before walking out of the lab. "JARVIS, please keep an eye on my daughter. She likes to wander..." Clint said. Nora just giggled, and threw her arms around Clint.

"I'm not that bad! Come on, I could still be 7!" Clint let out a groan. When she was 7, she had managed to reprogram one of Tony's suits, and was able to get in and fly around. Luckily, she didn't make it out of the lab, but Clint still had some words to say for that incident. It seemed so long ago... But, with Nora quickly reaching her 17th birthday, things were starting to get complicated.

On just her 15th birthday, Tony had managed to sneak her away from her party long enough to get her to try some Irish Whiskey. Needless to say, Nora wasn't a good drunk. She was worse than Tony, if that was even possible.

On her 10th birthday, Thor had given her his hammer to hold. Nora had been a pretty worthy child, no matter what she had done wrong. Even though Thor had meant it as a innocent prank, she had managed to throw it halfway across the room, destroying a couple hundred thousands dollars worth of electronics. She had apologized profusely afterwords, but Clint still had some words for her.

Now, with her 17th so close, Clint didn't want anything to go wrong. No, he wasn't planning on telling her she was adopted. Yes, he understood that would have consequences in the long run, but he wanted her birthday to be one of the best one's she had.

Clint's phone buzzed, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Sorry for this, but Tony locked me out of the tower. Again. Could you ask him to please let me in?"

Clint couldn't help but crack a smile at that. His own daughter, locked out of her own house...

Admit it, it was pretty funny.

Placing his phone back in his pocket, he proceeded to make his way to Tony's workshop.

His phone buzzed again.

"I kinda went outside after you told me to leave Tony alone, but now he won't leave me alone."

And then-

"Please hurry. It's cold out here."

Clint laughed, but kept moving nevertheless. By the time he got to the front of the building, it looked as through the temperature had dropped at least 10 degrees.

Even thought it was still early into the fall season, it got pretty cold in New York. Clint pressed the button to open the doors, and Nora came in, rubbing her arms.

"Geez, could you have taken any longer? It's colder than a monkey's butthole out there!"

"Wouldn't it be warm, then?" Nora scowled at her dad, and pushed past him.

"JARVIS, could you make me some hot chocolate?" She calls out.

"Would you like White chocolate or Regular chocolate?"

"Either or is fine. Thank you!" Nora smiles, and plops down into the couch in the lobby. Clint stands by her, arms crossed and tapping his foot. "What?"

"Why'd you go outside?"

"Ooh," Nora waves her hands around, "I'm not allowed to go outside now?" Clint rolls his eyes.

"I mean, why'd you go outside after I told you to leave him alone?"

"Well, I wanted to go out on the roof, but Sam was already up there, so I decided to take a stroll. When I got outside, I realized how cold it was, and turned back to grab a jacket." She shrugs. " And then Tony locked me out. Simple."

"Alright, I guess that's a good enough excuse. But try not to get locked out next time."

"Tell Tony to stop drinking, and maybe that'll happen." She giggled.

A ding interrupted their little conversation, and JARVIS came over the speakers.

"Miss Nora, your chocolate is done."

"Thank you, JARVIS." She stood up, and gave Clint a hug. "Besides, I'll be out of your hair soon enough. I'm almost 17, and Natasha's taking me away to a training camp. You won't have to worry about me!"

"It's my job to worry about you. So don't do anything you wouldn't do here."

"What wouldn't I do here?"

"You do everything here, Nora."

"That's why you won't have to worry about me!" She took off, leaving Clint standing alone.

"Mr Barton, will you tell her before she leaves?"

"JARVIS, I'll tell her eventually. Just not yet."
