You walked alongside your best friend Kaneki as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Watching the sky glow a warm shade of orange, you felt a hand grab your wrist and looked back to see that Kaneki had stopped walking.
"(First Name).. I want to confess.. I love you." His visible silver eye stared deep into your own (Eye Colour) eyes and you looked away.
"Kaneki.." You looked back at him and took a small breath, swallowing. "We've been best friends for a while now and I'm flattered, but.. I want to continue just being friends.."
"Oh.. I-I understand, (First Name).." Kaneki turned away from you, beginning to walk in the opposite direction from you.
"Goodnight, Kaneki.."

Kaneki lay on his bed, and clenched his teeth, staring at the picture he had taken with you at a photo booth.
"(First Name).."
"Why did you reject me..?"
He sat up and placed a hand over his eyepatch, silver eye narrowing.
His fingers curled around the photo and lifted it up, bringing it to eye level.
"Who took you from me..?"

Breathing in the crisp, autumn air, Kaneki shoved his hands in his sweater pockets and took long strides over the cold, concrete sidewalk.
His eyes scanned the park for an empty bench, and he caught sight of your (Hair Colour) locks among the orange-red foliage.
Veering closer, he took a breath to call out your name, but stopped short when he noticed a boy standing next to you.
Kaneki watched as the (Male Hair Colour) boy leaned in towards you to capture your lips in a passionate kiss.
He couldn't stand watching anymore. Kaneki stalked forward and ripped you away from the other boy, dragging you with him.
He stopped at an alley, and let go of your arm.
"K-Kaneki-"
"(First Name).." His grey eyes were like chips of cold, glittering steel. You could see red coming from behind him, and your eyes widened.
"I love you."
Icy pain filled your lungs as his kagune sliced into your throat, spilling your crimson blood onto the ground.
You collapsed, hands flying to your throat and Kaneki knelt down to gather you into his arms, gently brushing your (Hair Colour) hair, now stained with scarlet, away from your face.
"Now we can be together.."
"..Forever."
