"Why are you the way you are, (First Name)?" Ayato seethed, pacing back in forth across the debris littering the floor in front of your seated form. He stopped in front of you and scowled.
You kept your head down, staring idly at the (Colour) laces of your black shoes.
"You could have died! What do you think would have happened if Noro hadn't been there?"
"Damn it, why did you risk your life to save mine?"
"..I would die for you, Ayato." Your voice was quiet, and you lifted your head, smiling slightly. "I love you."
Those were not the words Ayato expected to hear, and he gave you a sharp look, dark blue eyes narrowing. "You don't know what you're saying." He scoffed, running a hand through his tousled hair.
He turned to exit, leaving you alone in the darkened room.
"He doesn't notice me." You tilted your head back, lips curling upward in a manic smile.
"He will, though."

You were growing desperate.
While you usually kept your kills clean, your longing for Ayato's approval and attention was beginning to dimmish your sense of honour.
You had tried so hard to be that perfect person to get him to notice you, but he never seemed to care.
Not when he only had eyes for some other girl.
Your patience was gone, and so was that naive, scared child you were.
As you trudged up the steps to the Aogiri headquarters, you spotted a figure leaning against the brick wall.
"(First Name), what are you doing?" Ayato's voice echoed in the empty, debris filled room, and your heart sped up.
"I was out h-hunting." You hated the way your voice cracked, but narrowed your eyes defiantly at him.
"You've been going out every night." Ayato stalked past and came to a stop in front of you. "Are you trying to get caught by a Dove?"
"No."
"..Why is it so hard to get you to notice me?" You hissed, ripping off your (Colour) mask and tossing it onto the floor.
Ayato stepped back, disbelief written on his features. "What?"
"Forget it." You gritted your teeth and pushed past him.

Your eyes glinted, maniacal grin fading as you took in the sights of the blood splattered alleyway.
You spotted Ayato's black leather-clad figure, and Eto's slight form trudging along the darkened, snowy streets, and followed after them, footsteps pattering on the concrete.
Ayato would love you now.
..Wouldn't he?
