I'm changing the way I write the titles, and possibly the pov I tend to write in. Also, I changed the title again.

Setting their phone back on the table with a small thump, (First Name) sighed and ran a hand through their (Hair Colour) hair.
It had been a few months since Kaneki had gone missing, and the (Hair Colour)-haired ghoul was worried about his safety.
"Ken.. Please respond.."

"Hey, Ken. I haven't heard from you in a few days. Are you doing alright?"
Their voice was concerned, but hints of cheerfulness disguised the anxiety they felt.

"Ken? Where are you? Please respond."

"Kaneki, please tell me. Are you doing okay?
The third message was strained, and Kaneki could hear the hints of desperation and worry clouding the other's voice.
He tossed the phone to the foot of his bed, hearing the metallic clank as it hit the metal framework. Tugging at his raven coloured hair, he closed his eyes and sighed.

"Happy birthday, Ken. I just want you to know that I care about you, and even if I might not always show it, I'll always be here for you."
"I-I miss you."
The messages had stopped coming after his birthday.

"(First Name). Are you okay?" A cold voice brought (First Name) out of their thoughts. Looking up at the shadow that casted over their table, they were surprised to find Nishiki looking at them curiously.
"Y-yeah. I'm fine." They mumbled, tugging at their (Hair Colour) strands of hair.
"Look. I know I'm not the nicest person here, but I'm worried about you. Hinami is worried about you. Even stupid Touka is worried about you." Nishiki sighed and pushed back his framed glasses.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." (First Name) smiled, picking up their bag and dropping a few coins onto the wooden table. "I've got to go now. Thanks for the coffee."
Nishiki's skeptic gaze followed them out as they left.

Breathing in the fresh winter air, (First Name) clutched their bag to their chest, watching as other people rushed around them, carrying out their daily tasks.
Catching sight of a familiar silver-eyed face among the crowd of people, the (Hair Colour)-haired ghoul rushed forward, desperate not to lose him again.
"Ken?" They inquired, looking up with hopeful (Eye Colour) eyes.
"(First Name)." Those silver eyes that (First Name) loved so much glistened with unshed tears, emotions swimming in their very depth.
Those words that (First Name) couldn't say before bubbled from their throat, and they stepped forward.
"I love you."
Kaneki enveloped them in an embrace, resting his cheek against the other's (Hair Colour) head.
"I love you." They buried their face into the now snow-haired boy's shoulder and repeated the words, whispering them against the fabric covering his shoulder.
To any other, it may have looked like a normal embrace between a couple, but to them both, it symbolized reunion, and a bittersweet parting that would surely follow.
