Down the steps he walked, spotting me in the distance and walking towards me at a very cautious speed.
"Carl" he smirks, holding out his hand "me"
"I noticed" I joked, laughing at him not with him
"Yeah.. um, I'm not good with new people especially not people my age you know? not many of those left" he says, trying to make excuses for his awkward introduction
"Yeah, I know how you feel, I haven't seen somebody my age since the start.. until now" I say with a smile
"Crazy right? anyway I've got to get going now, we're making a trip to the armoury see you around...um... sorry I didn't get your name"
"It's Alicia" I reply
"Beautiful" Carl whispers and then he's gone.
wow did that just happen? did he just call my name beautiful? I think to myself as I stand lost in the middle of Alexandria, a place I suddenly feel a massive part of.
There's so many people here. So many people I hardly know, Deanna, she owns this place. Her husband, Reg, he built the walls. Their son Spencer and his brother who isn't around anymore but I don't know much about what happened to him. Then there's Glenn and Maggie and Daryl. There's Tara and Noah and Rosita. Abe, Eugene and Aaron. There's also Sasha and Michonne and Carol. The Anderson family, Jessie, Pete, Ron and Sam, Ron seems about my age too, maybe we could be friends as well and lastly there's Rick and Carl, even though I have only just met them I feel like somehow I was meant to find them here, I don't know how that is.
There's a party at Deanna's later tonight to welcome me to Alexandria, I know, a party?! It's like the world before all this shit but ten times better and I can't say I'm mad at it.
A few hours ago I was alone, starving and wandering about waiting to be turned into one of the walking dead and now here I am in this amazing place waiting for this amazing boy in the hat to return, I already want to talk to Carl again hopefully he will be at the party, I'd love it if he helped me get to know everybody better. I walk over to Rick's house to get ready, do people still do that in the apocalyptic world? you may wonder to yourself. They do in Alexandria, the start of sustainability.
