[6] Camouflage

Glenn, Noah, Nicholas, Eugene and Tara "the go to town experts" They are leaving to get materials to fix the walls today. I woke up to the sound of the RV leaving Alexandria. Rick is going to teach me and Ron how to shoot today, while we wait. I headed over to where we planned to meet, Carl came too, he hasn't really spoke to me since the "hand holding" yesterday, it's kinda cute.
Ron picks up a gun
"you'll gonna be scared. you will be, your body's gonna tense, you won't have time to think, you're just gonna want to pull the trigger when you get it in front of you but you'll miss and you'll be dead, you have to get it up to your eye" those were Rick's instructions, Ron didn't seem too confident but he didn't need to be if we'll never have to leave Alexandria, which we won't when the walls are back up.
Time passed and the RV came back through the gate
"you get everything?" Rick shouted
there was no reply and the RV stopped, Nicholas stepped out and instantly ran away, then Glenn stepped out practically in tears, then Eugene carrying Tara who appeared to have a head wound and was rushed over to Denise to be seen too.
"Glenn? ... "where's Noah?" Rick asked with fear in his voice
Glenn took a deep breath and began to cry
"he didn't make it, Rick and I told him he would, I told him we all would"
"you can't save everybody Glenn and if there's a choice you save yourself" "you did the right thing" Rick says
"I didn't choose! It's Nicholas' fault he's a coward" Glenn shouts and walks away
I didn't know Noah too well but it sure is different with one less "Alexandrian" we are all so strong together, we can't lose nobody else.
Later that day I overhear Rick talking to Michonne and Daryl
"they're coming..... the walls are damaged...... we can't fix them" is what I work out from the entire conversation. I piece it together and realise there's a huge herd approaching the hole in Alexandria's walls.
Suddenly I turn around to hear a loud car alarm or something go off, the walkers are attracted to sound and this can't be good.
Less than 5 minutes passed and I was right the herd was here!
Spencer located where the sound was coming from, it was a truck that had crashed into one of the Alexandria houses. I watched him climb up to stop the sound and that's actually what he did, or what he claimed to do because I'm sure I saw somebody else up there with him.
"get in your houses!" Rick commands
him and Deanna stayed outside shooting the walkers and what I saw next I'll never forget, Deanna slipped and I lost sight of her from the window of my house. Rick helped her into the house I was in but she was bit and she was going to turn.
Carl and Ron came running up the stairs where we all were, it seemed like they had been fighting which drew the walkers to the house.
"we can't stay here" Rick announces "we have to leave"
"how Rick?" Michonne asks with fear in her voice
Then Rick ran downstairs and grabbed two walkers, Carl blocked up the door while Michonne chopped the arms and jaws off the walkers so they couldn't attack us.
Jessie ran to grab bedsheets, one for each of us. We covered each one in guts that Michonne had cut from the walker's stomach and put them on.
Me and Carl were the first ones to be ready and we made our way downstairs but the walkers were out on the porch at this point.
"what if this doesn't work Carl? I can't lose you" I turn to him and say
"you won't lose me" he replies
"you don't know that" I tell him
"trust me" he says while facing me
he moves closer to me, staring at my lips and before I even notice what's going on he kisses me and I kiss him back with no hesitation. He moves back and looks up at me, his blue eyes staring into mine. I grab his hand and we form a line with the others ready to make our journey to the quarry and follow Rick's plan to lure the herd away from Alexandria, what could go wrong?
