Pt. 15

~CHAPTER 15~

"I know ok. I feel bad. I just had to get out of there," I explained

"Well obviously you have a lot to figure out," Heather replied

"Yeah well, I already have things figured out," 

"Oh my God. Do- are you-" she asked

"Don't worry about me. I'm sure of my decision,"

I hung up and made my way to the park. I sat there on the bench, waiting for him.

"Hey, I got your text. Is everything alright?" Austin asked

"Yeah. I just- I need to talk to you," I take a deep breath

"Oh. You're here to tell me I'm- not the one,"

"No- I came to tell you- it's you. You're the one I wanna be with. It's always been you. I never stopped loving you," I pause "And i don't think i ever will,"

"I never stopped loving you too," He wraps his arms around me "So will you give me a second chance?"

"Yeah" I smile "One more thing. I need to talk to someone first."

"Oh. Yeah sure. Take all the time you need,"

"Thanks."

The last person I wanted to hurt was Kyle. He's so sweet and innocent that I would never want to break his heart. All I could think of was the story he told me about a girl that he loved, he waited for, but she ended up choosing someone else. That girl changed his whole personality. It's scary but it looks like I'm becoming that person. 

"I know what you're going to say," Kyle said

"What do you mean?" I ask

"Austin and Jen are back together? Of course." 

"Who told you that?" I ask

"Does it really matter who told me? Everyone knew before I did. The whole school is talking about it and I'm just there, looking like a fool,"

"Look I'm so sorry. I really am. I didn't want to hurt you. I couldn't-"

"Oh so you figured you should let the whole world know first before telling me?"

"No. I don't even know how they knew. It was probably Austin. But you have to know it wasn't my intention to hurt you."

"Jen, spare me your pity. How stupid can I be to think that you're gonna choose me over him,"

"Kyle you're my best friend. I don't wanna lose you."

"So what did you come here for? To ask for my blessing? Ya sure go ahead, date the guy all you want. But I'm not sticking around to watch."

"Please Kyle. I want you to be by my side. With or without him, you still matter to me,"

"Well I'm not sure if I want to be by your side. I already got hurt before, I don't wanna go through that again." he digs his pocket and tossed the ring at the counter. The one Austin gave me a while back "So if you ask me, here's my blessing"

"How did you- I threw that out." I was shocked

"Yeah I saw. I kept it. I know it means a lot to you. You guys are forever, right?"

"Right." I grab the ring on the counter and slipped it in my purse "thanks for this... and your support."

"Ya sure."

He took off and that was it.
