~CHAPTER 11~
This is not how I pictured it. How do you respond to something like this? Oh God help me.
"TIME'S UP!" Ethan yelled. The second before the door opened, I step away from him and try to act as casual as I can.
"Had fun?" Michelle elbows my ribs
"Mhmm," I say while peeking at Austin
Austin gives me this look. This look I haven't seen in a while. It's this look on his face that tells me he wants a second chance. Am I willing to give him that?
"Okay my turn," she slowly spins the bottle and what a weird coincidence "Kyle,"
Michelle looked very happy. Kyle on the other hand though, not so much. They get up from their seats and walked slowly towards the closet.
"Okay get in, you two," Ethan gives them a slight push on their backs. Once they have positioned theirselves in the closet, he slams the door shut. "7 minutes starts nooooooww"
Austin gets up from where he was sitting and starts making his way to where I'm sitting. He sits beside me on the couch and suddenly the whole room was filled with awkwardness.
"Hey, I was thinking," He whispered and suddenly, all 6 heads turned to him to listen "okay... can I just talk to you in the kitchen?"
"Sure.." We get up and headed to the kitchen. I lean on the counter and Austin stands in front of me.
"Jen, about what I said in the closet," he clears his throat "do you-"
"Austin listen to me, it's not that I've forgotten you. I just- I'm scared. I'm scared to take a chance after what you've done," I pause for a second "But don't get me wrong, I'm over it. It's just that I don't want to get hurt again. Not anymore."
"Believe me," he puts his hands on my arms and leans closer. I could feel his minty warm breath under mine "that was the biggest regret of my life. If I could go back and change all that, I would"
"But you can't. The damage is done, it's time to move on. You have to move on." I shake my head
"Jen. I never stopped loving you and I don't think I ever will. You mean so much to me and it makes it impossible for me to just move on,"
"I don't know what to say," I sigh "I need a break,"
I left the kitchen and stood in the middle of the living room, staring at 3 white doors. How hard was it to figure out which one leads me to the washroom?
"Hey Brie, where's the washroom?" I had to ask, she's been to Michelle's house way more than anyone in this room.
"Hahahahahha! You're so funny Ethan," she giggled. Well obviously she was too busy flirting with Ethan that she can't focus on anything else but him.
I really needed to use the washroom so bad. Knowing what closet I came from would really help but, I was too focused on Austin that I don't remember which one it was.
So I went to the very left and opened the door. Biggest mistake of the night. It was the closet.
I stood there, looking like an idiot. I caught Kyle trying to make a move on her. His arms around her waist, Michelle's wrapped around his neck.
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry, I- I-"
"Jen it has only been 4 minutes, what the hell?" Brianna screamed
"I know I know I thought this was the washroom, I'm so sorry," I say and I could see Michelle's face, looking like she wants to rip my head off. Her and Kyle were about to kiss. And I ruined it.
"You could've asked me?" She yells
"I did ask you but you were too busy slutting it up" I tell her
"EXCUSE ME?" Brianna's eyes widen.
"Brie stop. Jen, can I talk to you?" Michelle asks sternly.
I follow her to the front porch and she positions herself leaning on the brick wall. She orders Brianna to go inside and close the door.
"Jennifer, what exactly are you trying to do?"
"I'm not planning on doing anything! I needed to use the washroom and I thought that was it. I swear."
"You like Kyle don't you? That's why you're doing you're very best to make sure we don't end up together." She snaps
"NO. No I don't. Michelle not everything is about you ok!"
"Who do you think you are Jen! You're nothing compared to me. And mark my words, if you DARE try anything against me, your 4 years in this school won't be pleasant." She raises her voice. She starts making her way to the door.
"Do you really think I'm scared of you?" I question her
"You should. You have no idea what I can do to you,"
"Did you even think for a second that without your little friends, you're nothing but another bitch in our school?"
"Let me guess, you can't stand the fact that Kyle likes me. And the fact that he tried to kiss me. Poor Jen."
Does he? He said he had feelings for me but it became harder to believe after seeing him making a move on Michelle.
"He doesn't like girls like you, Michelle-"
"And he likes girls like you? Hah right. You may act like an innocent little girl but you're not so different from me. The only difference is, I'm a real bitch and you're the fake bitch. So I suggest you don't say anything about me, you hypocrite."
"I'm not even gonna bother talking to you or even fighting with you." I shake my head
"Oh but you did. And this doesn't end here. You mess with me, expect something in return." She gives an evil looking smile. The kind of smile only those 'popular girls' have. She held the door open and looked me in the eye "Prepare for hell."
