Chapter 18 The planning of the date

Kid's POV

I woke up in the same position I was last night with Kira's head on my shoulder. I looked down at her and smiled she had a big smile on her face. Liz and Patti were already up by the sounds coming from the kitchen. I carefully lifted her head off my shoulder and then put it on the pillow on the couch. There was something I had to ask Liz and Patti about.

So I went up to my room got dressed into my jeans and a t-shirt symmetrical of course, then fixed my hair, damn white stripes on only one side of my head. Then walked out and down the stairs. Everyone was still asleep so I made my way into the kitchen, Liz and Patti were making pancakes.

"Good morning Kid". Patti said in a chirpy voice, always so happy. I smiled at her.

"Good morning, Liz, Patti um can I ask you something". I said in a soft voice not wanting to wake anyone up.

"Huh what is it Kid". Liz said and turned around to face me. I looked down to the ground not knowing how to say it without feeling stupid.

"Um Kid you ok, earth to Death the Kid, hello anyone there". Liz said while Patti waved a hand in my face. I looked up and thought that I had to say it now no matter what.

"I would like to take Kira out on a date but I don't know what to do for it, I was hoping maybe... that is.... If you guys could um...." I said and looked down again.

"Um Kid do you want help to plan a date". Liz said. Patti squealed.

"Hey keep it down I would like it to be a surprise for her". I said and Patti put a hand over her mouth, with wide eyes. "And yes I would like your help and advice please". I said. Liz and Patti looked at each other than at me, they smiled at me. Oh maybe I should of asked Maka not these two.

"Sure we can help with that, so what kind of date you want it to be, Kid". Liz asked.

Kira's POV

I woke up to the smell of pancakes, everyone else was waking up to. I remembered falling asleep on Kid's shoulder but where is he now. That got answered when Liz, Patti and Kid walked out to kitchen table with a stack of pancakes for everyone.

"Breakfast is up". Liz said. Everyone moaned but got up, I noticed that Kid was dressed in casual wear. He looks really good in jeans. Kid noticed me looking at him and smiled, I looked away with a blush on my face. He came over and leant down in front of me.

"Kira come on, come and have some breakfast". Kid said and held his hand out to me. I used it to get up and we walked to the table and sat down next to each other. Soul was eating away next to me, Maka was smiling at Soul. Black*star was eating like a pig, Tsubaki was looking at him weirdly. Liz and Patti had smiles on their faces for some unknown reason, and Jack was eating fast. After about 10 minutes we had finished breakfast and settled down in the lounge room.

"Hey Soul can I talk to you in the kitchen for a moment please". Kid asked with a smile on his face.

"Um yeah sure I guess". Soul said and followed Kid to the kitchen.

I wonder what he is planning, Kid has been really cheerful this morning. Come to think about it so has Liz and Patti, maybe I should ask.

"Hey Liz, Patti what is up with Kid he seems awfully cheerful today any idea why". I ask with a curious voice. They look at each other and smile, oh now I know something is going on, but then they look back at me.

"OH it's nothing". They both say together, with a big smile. What is going on, they start talking to Maka and Tsubaki, but I totally zone out trying to figure out what is going on with Kid this morning. Why did he ask Soul to go in to the kitchen with him?

Soul's POV

I walked into the kitchen with Kid and wonder what is going on. "Um Kid why are we in here, what is it". I ask getting worried.

Kid looked at me with all seriousness and started to fidget with his hands.

"Um Soul I was hoping that you would allow me.... Um......" Kid stuttered out but didn't quite finish.

"Kid what is wrong with you today, what is it you are trying to say here". I asked with a hint of worry in voice. The reaper is nervous of something and I don't know what he is never nervous of anything, either that or he never shows it.

"Um Soul I was hoping that you would allow me to take Kira on a date with me tonight". Kid said in a rush. But I caught it. I looked at him and saw him start to look nervous. I don't know what to say, I mean I know that Kira likes him and he likes her back, but why is he asking me if it is alright. Oh maybe he is being polite, I mean I did over react when he kissed her. But I thought that they had already had a first date.

"Wait you guys haven't had a first date yet". I asked him, and he kinda looked away.

"Well I wanted to take it slow and Kira agreed, so no we haven't and I thought that it would be nice to ask you first before we did, because you're her brother and everything". Kid said in more of a calm voice. Well I guess when he puts it that way it does make more sense.

"Hah, SO NOT COOL, but I guess it is alright with me just treat her right ok, I don't want her hurt". I said with a smile to him. He looks at me and smiles back. Wow his smile is totally genuine never seen him smile like that for well ever, She really does make him happy that's all I need to know.

He says thanks then we walk out and he has a smile on his face. Ha so that was what that was this morning then, why Liz and Patti were so happy.

Kira's POV

Soul and Kid walked back in 20 minutes later and Kid has a massive smile on his face. So does Soul what the hell were they talking about. Kid comes over to me and sits down beside me. Liz and Patti are looking at him with a smile even Maka and Tsubaki were, Jack, Black*star and Soul were talking away.

"Um Kira I wanted to ask, if you would um...." Kid started but when I looked at him he seemed to stop in midsentence.

"Yes Kid what is it you would like to ask". I said with curiosity. He looked at me again and took a big breath and started again.

"Kira I wanted to ask if you would like to go on a... date with me, tonight". Kid said and looked straight at me.

"Um yes of course I would love to Kid". I said with a smile on my face. His face lit up and his beautiful yellow eyes turned almost golden. He smiled and kissed me on the lips.

"Ok then how about 8 o'clock, and I will meet you down here, wear something fancy". Kid said. Liz and Patty looked like they wanted to help.

"Ok then". With that everyone cheered, and clapped. Then one by one they left.

Black*star and Tsubaki left first, but not without giving me a hug. Then Maka and Soul left.

"Oh I am so happy for you or if you need any help finding anything to wear just let me know alright". Maka said as she hugged me.

"I um think I am ok, I think that Liz and Patti want to help". I said with a smile on my face. Maka looked at them then laughed and Soul hugged me then left.

Jack smiled and hugged me then went off with Kid I have no idea what that was about but anyway, I do need help to find something to wear, I want to look good and Liz and Patti would surely help me out.

"Um Liz, Patti would you guys be able to help me get ready for my date please I have no idea what to wear". I said to them. They looked at each other then smiled.

"Yeah we thought you would never ask. Hey Kid we are gonna help Kira get ready. So no interrupting us". Liz yelled out to him we heard an ok and then they dragged me up the hallway to Liz's room, we went past Kid's room and saw Jack helping him choose what to wear as well. I smiled.
