Fast forward to school year 2014, first semester. Mag jowa na sila RJ at Maine.
It was a Saturday, Maine visited RJ at Mickey's tattoo shop. She stopped in her tracks when she saw RJ working on a dreamcatcher tattoo on a pretty girl's hips.

He's just working. Wag mandilim ang paningin, gurl! She said to herself.
"Hey!" Okay, nakita na niya ako.
"Hello, Hon. Busy ah." She gave out a forced smile to her boyfriend, then looked at the girl who was lying down ATM. RJ noticed it, he pulled her close to him and kissed her temple.
"Medyo, pero matatapos na rin to. Nga pala, this is my client, Gayle. Gayle, this is my girlfriend, Maine."
Gayle smiled and gave a small wave at Maine. "Hello! Ay, Brad, naswertehan tayo sa lovelife ah. Dalian mona uy, nangangawit nako dito saka naiinip na ang labidabs ko."
RJ pointed at an equally beautiful girl sitting by the waiting area, he whispered. "That's Jenna, Gayle's labidabs. Okay kana?"
"What?! I didn't---"
"I know. I love you, too. Now, let me go back to work para makauwi na tayo." He kissed her on the cheek this time. She went to the waiting area and sat across Jenna, who was reading a Sidney Sheldon novel.
The girl looked up, smiled at her and said, "You must be Maine. RJ talks very fondly of you. I was his first client, he did this 2 months ago." She pointed at a little Tinkerbell tattoo behind her ear.

Jenna continued, "And I thought he really did a wonderful job I recommended him to all my friends. Sa pagkakaalam ko, Gayle was the 11th person I know who had RJ do their tattoos."
Upon hearing what Jenna told her, Maine felt very proud of RJ. 12 clients in 2 months, not bad for RJ who just started his training with Mickey last year. 30 minutes later, Gayle came out and she and Jenna said goodbye to Maine. It didn't take long for RJ to come out, they walked out of the shop hand in hand. Maine had been quiet in the car, they were on their way to Bulacan.
"Penny for your thoughts?" RJ finally spoke.
"RJ, I would like to get a tattoo." RJ was surprised at what she said.
"Are you sure about that, Hon? Pag isipan mo muna ng maraming beses, kasi hindi basta basta yang tattoo. You'll be having it on your skin permanently."
"Yes. And I want you to do it."
"Sige, kung yan ang gusto mo. Do you have a design already?"
"I'd like to have a dandelion tattoo, Hon, dito sa likod ko." She pointed at the upper left part of her back.
"Maganda yung dandelion. But why dandelion?"
"For me it symbolizes freedom. Or being carefree." She smiled as she held his hand.
"I see. Sige schedule natin yan. Next Saturday okay ka?"
"Yes! Thank you, Honey. I'm excited na."
"Still I need you to think about it ha?"
"Okay." She kissed him on the cheek.
When they arrived at her house in Bulacan, she asked him to stay for dinner. He loved spending time with her family, they are a crazy bunch. After dinner, they sat by the lanai. She picked up her crochet project.
"What are you making?" RJ asked.
"Order ni Ryan, birthday gift niya para sa pamangkin niya. It's a pinafore." She chuckled when she saw RJ's furrowed eyebrows. She explained,
"Noon, sa England, pinafores may be worn by girls as a decorative garment and by both girls and women as a protective apron. It is known as a jumper in American English, a sleeveless dress intended to be worn over a top or blouse. The name reflects that the pinafore was formerly pinned (pin) to the front (afore) of a dress. The pinafore had no buttons, was simply "pinned on the front" which led to the term pinafore."
"Wow! Now I learned something new today. Being a fashion design student, I guess napag aralan niyo yan."
"Oo. And I did my research rin. Pero ito, this is not my original pattern. I got the pattern free online. Heheh."
"May picture ka jan? Patingin."

"Here." She showed him the photo from her phone.
"Maganda siya. Ang arte, pinafore kunyari e baby dress pwede na hahaha. Ang cute ng baby."
"Oo nga, nakakagigil. Oh, speaking of babies. I almost forgot, Hon! Yung kuya ng classmate ko photographer, asked if I could make some costumes daw. Okay naman yung price."
"Oo uso na nga yang ganyan ngayon, may photo sessions na mga babies ngayon. Ikaw kung kaya mo naman. Meron bang deadline na binigay sayo?"
"Wala naman, pero wag naman daw matagal kasi kailangan din daw niya. Meron naman na siyang costumes, pero gusto niyang madagdagan para maraming pagpipilian. And medyo naging trend na rin ang knitted and crocheted photography props these days, and they're cute din."
RJ stayed for another hour and had coffee with Maine's parents before going home to Laguna.
The following Saturday, Maine was already decided to have a tattoo. She brought Pia with her kasi sobrang ninenerbyos siya. The session took an hour and when it was done, she was so elated and giddy she showered RJ's face with kisses.

Clingy Maine is life. RJ thought, smiling.

I am currently crocheting a pinafore for my little girl, I hope to finish it before her birthday on December 4th. She will be turning 3 by then. Time just flies so fast!
