Chapter 10: Mindless Fairytale Everystep

Leila (POV)
Princeton and I stopped at door, as Adrianna ran over.
Adrianna: Leila come to the TV right now!
Adrianna grabbed me by my arm and pulled me to the TV. The volume was low and I couldn't really hear what the reporter was saying then the scene changed to police arresting some man. As Adrianna turned up the volume higher I could see hear what the reporter was saying. Apparently the boy robbed someone or assaulted someone.
Me: Adri, I don't...
Adrianna hushed me and I continued to look at the TV. I looked as they showed the boy's face. For a quick second everything stopped. My eyes widened and the boy on the TV was just any boy it happened to be RJ, what did RJ do? Who was the boy? I was thinking way too much to even pay the slightest attention to the TV. Princeton walked back in the room. My eyes were starting hurt, I was straining them, I couldn't help but stare at the TV, even when the news went straight to another topic. Adrianna looked like she was trying to tell me something but I just stood there, frozen.
Princeton: Lili?
Adrianna: Leila!
Adrianna shook me. I looked at her. And she looked back at me, urging me towards the stairs.
Princeton looked at us. I still couldn't process out why RJ was getting arrested, I felt terrible. I wanted him to before but then he saved me, the person I needed the most wasn't even there but he was. Adrianna tugged my arm and I followed her up a few small stairs.
Adrianna : Terrance is in the hospital
I looked at her.
Me: ok.........
Adrianna: that boy, RJ who helped you...thats why he is getting arrested! He was charged for assaulting Terrance.
Me: I know I saw...but RJ after he dropped me off, he had to go to this correctional program. Terrance, he left the house after the fight
Adrianna: Lili if he didn't do it then...who?
Me: I don't know, but Adrianna I just want to let it go. If RJ needs my help he'll call for now, lets just leave it and keep our mouths shut. We can't say anything about Terrance unless we are questioned by the police or something.
Adrianna: Wha?? That makes no sense, that wouldn't help out RJ at all. That would make him look bad if you tell anyone your side of the story.
Me: Adrianna he helped me! He protected me from fucking creep and your saying that would make him look bad? If I told the truth? RJ shouldn't be arrested for shit, Terrrance is the kind of guy anyone would want to beat the shit out of maybe even kill. I don't care if I am questioned, I am not going to lie, I am telling the truth, unlike you I am no longer going to let Terrance put fear in me, or anyone else for that matter. I'm done!
Adrianna's hazel eyes just glared at me, blankly. She wasn't angry or sad. But she seemed lost. Adrianna walked away, her eyes still blank. I didn't mean to yell at her, but I just just couldn't believe this was happening, shit was getting worse by the minute, the only thing that made me forget about everything was Princeton. And I didn't want to bring him to my life, I have to admit I am afraid and insecure. Princeton's life is so close to perfect, mines is broken, and some of the parts of my life are lost. Once again I tried to refrain from crying, my face hot and goosebumps crawling on the surface of my body.
