Date Night

Once Melody got home she did her homework and got ready for her date. She put on mascara, eyeliner, and a light brownish lipstick. Once it was 4:45 she got ready to leave. Her mom dropped her off and said she'll be back around 7.

"What do you want to do?" Nathan asked.

"Whatever you want to" Melody said happily.

"Wanna make out?" Nathan asked.

Melody replied "Anything but that. Sorry. I've never kissed anyone before. I've only been kissed on my cheek"

"That's okay" Nathan said.

Melody looked at Nathan. He was so perfect. His blonde hair, blue eyes, soft lips, and his beautiful smile. She could listen to him talk all day. He talks on and on and Melody just smiles. As Melody was listening to Nathan talk about him. She got a text from her mom saying she was outside waiting for her. Melody was sad.

"I'll see you tomorrow" Nathan said.

"Ok. Bye" Melody said back.

As Melody was leaving she heard Nathan call for her.

"Melody, wait" Nathan yelled.

Suddenly Nathan pulled Melody and hugged her. She could smell his cologne and feel his body. When they stopped hugging, he kissed her on her cheek. Melody smiled and walked outside. Melody's mom asked what they did.

"We just talked" Melody said.

"Then why do you smell like a boy?" Melody's mom ( Shannon ) asked.

"He hugged me. God why do you have to be a bitch about everything. I'm turning 13 in January. Give me a break!" Melody sassed back.

"Don't give me that tone young lady! I am your mother!" Shannon said.

"Not my birth mother." Melody mumbled.

"At least I didn't leave you for drugs! I adopted you because I love you! I don't want you to end up like your birth mom. At least you have me!" Shannon said almost crying.

The rest of the car ride was quiet. Melody's birth mom was a drug addict and her dad got into a car accident when melody was 5 and died. Melody began living with her mom and soon after her mom got arrested and Melody went into foster care. Melody went into about 10 homes when she was young until she found her mom. ( Shannon )
