WARNING: Possessive/jealous Dan and non-consensual touching.
Dan clenched his fists. Something inside of him was stirring the more time passed without Phil. There was nothing to worry about, part of Dan reasoned, Phil would never do anything. But someone else can lead him on, another part of Dan said, Phil is easily persuaded if it's someone he knows. This side of Dan was winning. It was right. Phil is too friendly, too welcoming. That could very well be an invitation for someone else to snatch him away. Dan couldn't have that. Dan needed Phil.
"Dan? I'm home."
Dan instantly perked up, but that dark part of him kept him under control.
Phil walked into the living room. His cheeks and nose were pink from the cold outside. "Hi, Dan," Phil grinned. "Have you gotten anything done while I was gone?"
Something in those words stabbed Dan in his chest. "No," he replied in a hollow tone.
"Aw, well I hope you had fun at least." Phil still kept that cute smile on his face.
"Did you have fun?" The words left harsher than Dan expected them to.
It appeared to go unnoticed by Phil. "Oh, I did. I didn't know she lived in such a nice place! We talked a lot about our lives and I mentioned that she should get a flatmate..."
Phil speaking became background noise to Dan. He pursed his lips and stared at Phil intently. The way he talked about her made Dan fall deeper into the dark hole consuming him. Phil's eyes were sparkling with excitement. Excitement that wasn't caused by Dan. Phil had a broad smile for someone that wasn't Dan. Phil was happy without Dan.
Dan could've sworn he heard his heart cracking before it all became silent. Phil's mouth was moving but Dan couldn't hear a thing. He felt himself melt away, giving light to something else inside him. It was almost like an out of body experience. He saw himself moving but he wasn't in control. He stood up without saying a word. Then everything came crashing down. All the noises of the world were recovered. Dan fell back into himself only to feel nothing. He was empty. The darkness that took his place remained when he returned.
Phil stopped talking momentarily, oblivious to the demons taking over Dan. He furrowed his brows and took a step forward. "Are you alright, Dan?"
As Phil was about to put his hand on Dan's shoulder, Dan snatched his wrist. Phil jumped in surprise. "D-Dan?" Dan didn't look at him or say a word. His hand was freezing compared to Phil's warm wrist. The silence from his best friend caused Phil to get a bit unnerved. "Uh, Dan? A-are you okay?" This only caused Dan to tighten his grip. "C-can you let go of me?" Dan did no such thing. He gripped onto Phil's wrist until his knuckles turned white. It really hurt. Phil couldn't help but whimper. "Dan, w-what's wrong?"
Dan gave a bitter laugh that caused Phil to shiver. He turned his head toward Phil, his usually warm eyes now hard and cold. They bore into Phil's terrified blues but neither of them said a word. If it was even possible, Dan held Phil's wrist tighter, causing Phil to cry out and shrink into himself. Dan gazed at the trembling body of Phil and felt no sympathy, though something in the back of his mind screamed at him to stop. He didn't listen. He let go of Phil's wrist and shoved him into a nearby wall.
Phil cowered in fear, making Dan appear much taller than him. He cradled his wrist and looked up at Dan like a shivering puppy. "What is it?" Phil's voice shook. "Y-you can tell me what's wrong, Dan. I-I don't know why you're acting this way, b-but maybe I can help."
Dan held in his scoff. Even though he's terrified he still wants to help you, the voice in the back of his mind spoke. Dan shook it away. He grabbed Phil by the collar of his shirt and held him up against the wall. Phil stared with wide eyes. Dan felt something deep and animalistic rise up within him. He felt like a predator that finally caught its prey. For once, he finally had control.
"P-please let me go," Phil begged.
"Now, honey, why would I do that?" Dan purred into Phil's ear.
Phil flinched and felt chills run all over his body. Dan's voice was devoid of its usual emotion. It was dull compared to what it should be. Then Phil felt a pair of lips brush against his ear and move down to his neck. It triggered several alarms to go off in his head, but he couldn't move; he was paralyzed with fear. That didn't stop his breath from hitching or his heart to beat out of control. It wasn't until Dan started kissing his neck did Phil completely flip out. He let out a strangled cry and attempted to push Dan away. All that got him was pinned to the wall. Dan held Phil's arms in a deathly grip and even trapped his legs.
Phil whimpered and struggled, but it didn't help, Dan still had him pinned. Phil's body shook out of his control and his breathing became ragged. He struggled to find air. Dan suddenly bit down on the base of Phil's neck, causing him to squeak and lose the breath he needed. His knees couldn't hold him up any longer but Dan kept him in place. His vision became fuzzy with the staggered, rushed breaths he was taking in. "S-stop," Phil's voice was meek. "I-I don't..."
"You don't what?" Dan growled. His lips hovered over Phil's neck. He didn't care about what Phil had to say. He needed to make the world see what was his.
Phil almost crumbled when Dan went back to his neck. "S-stop," he repeated, more desperate this time. "I-I don't want this."
Too suddenly, Dan stopped everything and stepped away from Phil. Phil fell to the floor like a limp doll. Dan stared at him with something cruel burning behind his eyes. Phil avoided his gaze and felt a lump beginning to form in his throat. He stood up as fast as his body would allow and shuffled to his room with Dan's eyes never leaving him.
As soon as Phil entered his room he burst into tears. Dan terrified him. The man he confided in -- loved, even -- turned into one of his biggest nightmares. He had to tell someone. He had to tell someone that something is very wrong with Dan Howell. He had a feeling Dan wouldn't appreciate it if he knew, so Phil decided to close his door. But as he got there, Dan stood right in the doorway. Phil shrieked and fell back. Dan slammed the door closed while Phil scrambled to his feet.
"D-Dan." Phil backed away as Dan approached him. "I-I don't know w-what's gotten into you, but p-please stop. Y-you're scaring me." He felt more tears roll down his face.
Dan grabbed Phil by the arms so he wouldn't run away. He's scared of you, the voice sneered, he won't be yours if you keep doing this to him. You need to show him who's boss, the darkness commanded, he won't think of anyone else if you put some fear in him. Dan didn't even realize he was moving until it was already too late. Phil's body was on the bed with Dan holding his arms behind his back. Phil cried into his sheets, just begging for Dan to stop. Dan felt half of him be stabbed with disgust at his own actions, while the other half felt satisfaction. He knew he couldn't listen to both halves. So he chose one.
Dan held down Phil's squirming head and leaned down to his exposed ear. "Don't ever forget that you're mine."
A/N: This is the closest thing I'll ever get to smut and it wasn't even with consent. smh. I'm sorry Phil.
