Love Under Attack

Chapter 2

Riley took Falcon out for a run because the working dog had energy he needs to release. As she was jogging, she saw Aleah on her new neighbors porch with a girl she hasn't met. "Riley!" Aleah saw her and ran to her. "Falcon, down." She spoke to her dog as if he was human. She smiled and opened her arms for a hug when Aleah reached her.
"Shalom,how are you beautiful?" Riley remembered how Aleah used some Hebrew the day before, so she did as well.Aleah giggled and looked down at her feet a little bit.
"Hey,look at me. You are beautiful."
"Abba doesn't think so...."Aleah trailed off. Riley was puzzled on the correct way to answer that. As she was thinking, the woman on the porch approached them.
"Hey, I'm Raven. It seems you already met my niece. Her and my sister just moved in." Raven stuck her hand out and shook Riley's hand.
"Nice to meet you,my name is Riley."
They made small talk until Falcon started growling at Raven.
"Falcon, enough." Falcon then proceeded to signal that there were at least traces of bomb on her.
"Raven....may I ask what you do for a living?" Riley was really concerned as her dog was well trained and experienced.
"I am an Army Corporal.Corporal Worth. Why?" Riley let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Because, he is my Military Working Dog and he just signaled that you have bomb traces on you." Raven smiled. A smile of pride.
"These are my working boots,I wore during my last tour. He probably smells a small trace amount from me just being around them so much. What branch are you in?"
"Marine Corps. Sargent Jennings. Thank you for your service."
"You as well."
Riley was now gleaming,this woman was gorgeous and brave. She quickly shook the thought out of her head as Raven most likely didn't feel the same way. No one ever did.
"Would you guys like to come over for lunch?" Riley felt like that was the polite thing to do. Aleah and Raven nodded, and Raven quickly went to tell her sister what was happening. When they all got to Riley's it was a little after noon. She made spaghetti with garlic bread. Once they all finished their lunch,they messed with the dogs. "A, we should go back to your house. Your dad is probably home." Raven said to the little girl.
"So,where did she pick up Hebrew?" Riley questioned.
"Her dad,Adam. He was born in Israel and his first language is Hebrew." Their was something in Raven's voice when she mentioned Adam. It sounded like disgust,but Riley didn't push it. After a little bit of protest by Aleah, they went home. Riley went to took a shower when she heard a her phone ring. When she went to answer the phone, she noticed the caller ID. It was her therapist. She sighed then declined the call. She is fine. She doesn't need a shrink. The sooner people realize that, the sooner she can get back to work. With that she went to take a shower letting her mind wander. Which,never ended well.
