Raven sat on her sister's couch plotting ways to kill Adam. You have understand something, Raven is a good person. She loves her family and friends. She signed up for the Army right out of high school and has done three tours since. So,yes Raven is a good person. Until you piss her off. Even though she has amazing self control and discipline, sometimes she can't help it. She is an amazing marksman and martial artist. Her friends call her 007. Her enemies, well they are dead before they give her a nickname. Although qualified to be an assassin, she generally tried not to kill people. The problem with this is she really wants to kill Adam. He is a pig,and not a cute one. He lies, cheats, and steals. He also is abusive, mentally. Not just to Kayla, but also to Aleah. She had never been there to witness it,if she did he better pray that God help him. Just thinking about it makes her fume. She looked down at her hands and they were turning white from being clenched so tightly. She went to release the tension when Adam walked in. "Jackass." Although she mumbled it,she really didn't care if he heard her or not. Adam either didn't hear her or chose to ignore her. He went to sit down on the couch when she "accidentally" tripped him. "Sorry. My bad." She said coldly.
"What is your problem?" He asked puzzled.
"You." She answered bluntly.
"Then leave. You don't need to be here nor do you live here."
"No. I do need to be here. I will not let you ruin your wife and daughter's self-esteem by belittling and berating them. So,you're wrong. I do need to be here." By this point Adam was red. She couldn't tell if it was from anger or embarrassment, and she didn't care.
"What's wrong? You want to hit me? Go ahead. I want you to hit me,then I will have a legal excuse to beat your pour excuse of a face into a bloody pulp." Raven was on fire. She has been waiting for this moment. Adam lunged at her. The Army Corporal got excited like a hound dog going hunting. She automatically went into fight mode. He went for a punch but Raven blocked him and tackled him. Neither of the adults noticed the five year old walk into the room. Remembering what her mom had said about Riley being a safe person,Aleah ran out the door to her house.
***Riley's House***
Riley jumped at the sudden knocking on her door. She quickly shook it off and opened the door. She saw a scared looking Aleah.
"What's wrong love?" Riley bent down to her level.
"Abba and dodah Raven are fighting."
"Fighting? With words or fist?" Riley was concerned now. She was hoping it was just verbal fighting, not physically.
"Fist..." Aleah practically whispered the word.
"Okay,Aleah. Thank you for telling me sweetheart. Stay here,I will be right back. Okay?" The small girl nodded and Riley took a deep breath. She jogged to her neighbors hoping it wasn't serious.
***David House***
Riley walked through the door not ready for what she just walked in on.
Blood. Blood all over both Raven and Adam. Adam did have Raven by the throat but the sound of the door made him loosen his grip. This gave Raven time to slip out of the hold and put him in a headlock. Riley was entranced by Raven's bulging muscles and how hot she was. She quickly remembered what was happening around her. She stepped in the action yelling at Raven.
"Raven! Let go! Tell me what happened!" She could see that Raven wasn't in the mood to talk. But,something in her wanted to help the woman and keep her out of jail. Raven didn't even blink. Adam's face was losing color, he was about to pass out. Riley didn't have much time to negotiate.
"Raven, think about your sister. Think about your niece. Please, let go of him." Nothing. She did nothing.
"Corporal Worth! Let go of him now! This is an order!" Raven knew she didn't have a choice. She hesitated, but she let go of Adam. He was gasping for air, struggling to breath. Raven was pissed. She wanted to kill him. He deserved to die. But,Riley out ranked her. So,she did as she was told. Her mind wondered to Aleah and she panicked. Her niece could have seen the whole thing. Seeing the panicked look on her face, Riley took a guess at what it was about.
"Aleah is fine. She showed up at my house telling me that you guys were fighting. I left her there." Raven let out a breath.
"Go over there. I will stay here and make sure he lives." Raven thanked her left to go see Aleah.
"What is that woman doing to me?" Riley though to herself. With that, she was left to clean up Raven's mess.
