((This is Part 3 in the series!! There's gonna be one or two(?) more parts. At least one more.))
"Ninety-nine... One hundred!"
(F/n) flopped on the floor after doing her daily afternoon work out. I nearly forgot to exercise again because of everything that's been happening. But now, being that I'm completely healed, I can work out again! She lifted her head and poked her stomach. ...Where is my stomach?! When a ding went off, (F/n) rolled over and checked her phone. Shizuo? What's he texting me at this time for? (F/n) opened the text message, sipping on her bottle of water.
Shizuo: I got some extra money. Would you like to go out to a restaurant tonight? NOT Russian Sushi. Somewhere else.
Mouth agape, (F/n) dropped her phone onto the floor. Did... He just ask me on an ACTUAL date? WOAH! (F/n) began to internally panic. W-What am I supposed to do?! Do I dress up? Do I keep my brass knuckles at home? What do I do?! I've never been on a date bfore! (F/n) pouted, her bottom lip sticking out. I've never been in a relationship with anybody in the first place anyway. I gave my first kiss to Shizuo!!
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and the young woman got up and walked out into the living room. It better not be a salesman or something. Putting on a bored expression, (F/n) opened the door. "What do you wa-"
"HIA, (F/N)!!"
That voice... "M-M-Mom?! Dad? Cousin?!" (F/n) sweat-dropped, suddenly wishing it was a salesman. "W-What are you doing here in Ikebukuro? I thought you were satisfied with America...?" (M/n) beamed, pushing her way into (F/n)'s home. "We came to visit! Isn't that great?!" (F/n) felt all the color drain her face. "Y-Yeah... Great..." Her dinged again, and she quickly opened it. She didn't notice her family reading the text over her shoulder.
Shizuo: Meet me at (restaurant name) at 6, okay?
(F/n): Sure thing!"You're going on a date?!"
(F/n) cringed before turning around. Mother, father, and cousin all looked like they had been told that the world was made of gold or something like that. "...Yes..." (M/n) gushed with (C/n) as (D/n) began to ask questions. "Is he a wimp? Does he have combat experience? Does he-" (F/n) quickly got annoyed and stomped her foot.
"EVERYBODY, SHUT UP!!"
Everybody did as told, and (F/n) ran a hand through her hair. "Let's get the bombard of questions over with. One. Yes, I'm dating somebody. Two. He went to school with me, so I've known him for quite awhile now. Three, he's not wimp. Far from it, he's stronger then me. Four-" (M/n) spoke up. "(F/n), what's his name?" The (h/c) woman sighed, turning her head. "Shizuo Heiwajima..." And, once again, her family began to crazy. "Oi, oi! (L/n) family!"
They were quiet again, this time under the yell of the mother. "Alright! (C/n), (D/n), we must now make (F/n) look perfect for her date! It is her first one, after all!" (F/n) widened her eyes and began to back away. "N...No, that's alright, you really don't need to do that..." She shrieked when she was being pushed into the bathroom by her cousin. "Go get a shower, and then we'll get you all dolled up!" (F/n) prayed. "Okay, okay! STOP MAN-HANDLING ME!!!"
After the shower, the family gets in the car and makes their way to the salon. Approximate time left until date: Three hours.
"...What kinda do is that?"
(F/n) could not be anymore dumbfounded as (C/n) (the fashion/makeup expert) showed her a picture of what her hair should be like. ((If you have short hair you have long hair now. And for hairstyle: ))
"Com on, (F/n)! We're paying for it anyway!" (F/n) sighed. She knew there was no arguing with her cousin, or any of her family, for that matter. "Alright..." (C/n) squealed, and she told the hairdresser what she wanted for (F/n). The young woman closed her eyes, not wanting to see how it would look until the end. "Alright! All done, sho- sweetie!!" (F/n) opened her eyes, and they widened a bit. That... Actually doesn't look too bad...
"Thank you so much!" (C/n) paid the hairdresser, and the (L/n) family was now on their way to-
"Absolutely not. No make-up."
"At least lipstick and nail polish! Pleeeeease?"
"You should listen to your cousin, (F/n)."
"Aww, mom!"
"Yay, we'll do it! I have my make-up kit at your house, so let's head there!"
...Why did you leave your make-up case.... At my house...?
Approximate time left: 2 hours.
Once they got to her house, (F/n) and her family headed in. (C/n) opened up her make-up case, and (F/n) frowned at it. What is all this stuff?? "Don't tell me you don't know what make-up is!" The (h/c) girl scowled at her way-too perky cousin. "I don't. I don't see a point." (C/n) took out the polish and the lipstick, picking a light shade (to (F/n)'s relief) and held them up. "Alrighty, stay still and do what I tell you!" (F/n) smiled a bit. She couldn't help it, her cousin was trying hard to make her 'perfect'.
"Alright, while your nails are drying, I'll do your lipstick, so don't move." (F/n) glanced down at her hands. Her nails were a lovely shade of (f/c). She felt something go across her lips, and she instinctively made a 'pop' with them. (C/n) smiled and put her stuff away before checking the time. "Do you still have the dresses your sister sent you?" (F/n) nodded, and with a grin, (C/n) grabbed (F/n)'s hand (the nail polish had dried, luckily) and took her upstairs.
"Hmm... We should match your nail polish, right? Perfect, a nice (f/c) dress!" (F/n)'s cousin pulled out a long (not really long- (F/n) was short) (f/c) dress. "I'll try it on..." She shooed (C/n) out of her room and tried the dress on before looking in the mirror. It looks good, I have to admit. ...I did not know I had... Actual curves... This is very weird for me. (C/n) came in, saying that they had half an hour to get there. Everybody was in the car and driving to the restaurant.
Approximate time left: 20 minutes.
Arrival time: 5:56
"Ah, he's already here. Um..." (F/n) scratched the back of her neck. "...Thanks, guys..." Her family looked shocked before they all smiled. "No problem, honey! Hey, we'll pick you up so we can re-meet Shizuo, okay?" (F/n) smiled, chuckling. "Yeah. I'll text you. Don't act too weird, and that mainly goes to Mom and (C/n)." With a wave, (F/n) carefully stepped out the car and onto the sidewalk. She could feel stares on her, and being careful not to fall in her high heels (they weren't as tall as her normal shoes), approached Shizuo.
"...Hi, hon." Shizuo turned his head, and his eyes widened. "(F-F/n)?" With a blush, the woman rubbed the back of her head. "Hehe, yes?" It got awkward for a couple of seconds before Shizuo cleared his throat. "M-Maybe we should head inside..." (F/n) nodded, and they walked inside before they were seated at a table next to a window.
(F/n) smiled a bit, her blush still on her face. "You're not wearing a bartender outfit. That's new." Indeed, apparently Shizuo had some other clothes in his house besides bartender suits. "Yeah, well, my brother happened to stop by, and when I told him, he lent me this." Shizuo and (F/n) ordered before they went back to the conversation. (F/n) sipped some wine. "Really? That's funny. My family stopped by at the time you texted me..."
Shizuo gave her a curious look. "Doesn't your family live in America?" Shaking her head with a laugh, (F/n) leaned back in her chair a bit. "Yeah, but they just so happened to be in Ikebukuro... And it went from there. Can't say whether it was downhill or uphill." Shizuo chuckled, meeting her gaze. "I'd have to say uphill. You look great." (F/n) smiled. "You too. Have to say, it's surprising and weird- in a good way- to see you so calm. When I'm with you, you're usually on the edge about something."
Slightly embarrassed, Shizuo looked down at the table. "That's true, and my brother as well as Tom-san are to thank for that." (F/n) tilted her head slightly. "I get your brother, but Tom-san? Doesn't he usually just stand in the background or catch you at the last second?" Shizuo nodded and looked up. "Yeah, well, he was the one who gave me a bit of extra money. When I had told him we hadn't been on an actual... Date yet..."
Flashback
"That's not right, Shizuo. You have to take her on a real date. And you're walking together and beating up random people, that doesn't count as a date." Grumbling, Shizuo stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I know that, but I don't know what to do, or how to-" He was cut off when Tom handed him his pay. "...Right. Thanks." The blonde man took it and counted it, realizing it was slightly more then usual. "Take her to a nice restaurant, something other then Russian Sushi. You'll figure it out from there. See ya." With that, Tom walked away.
Surprised, Shizuo stood still for a couple of seconds before walking into his apartment. I can't just wear what I usually do, can I? Hmm... A knock on the door interrupted his train of thought, and he opened it. "Oh. Heya, Kasuka." It was rare for Shizuo's younger brother to come in unannounced, much less coming to Shizuo's apartment. "Hey. How are you doing?" Shizuo shrugged, stepping out of the way to let Kasuka in.
"...Actually, I need help with something." As usual, Kasuka showed no emotion. "With?" Shizuo realized that he never told his brother about dating (F/n). He knew who she was, but he didn't know that the two were dating. "What should I wear for a date? A formal one..." Once again, he got no reaction. "I have something, if you'd like to borrow it. Who are you going with?" Shizuo barely detected some curiosity in his voice.
"(F/n), the tiny girl with the brass knuckles." Kasuka hummed and turned around. "I'll grab the stuff." With that, he walked out. Shizuo shook his head with a smile. Talk about timing. ...Maybe I should tell (F/n) what time and place. I know of one, luckily. The male pulled out his phone and sent (F/n) the message before Kasuka came back in and handed him the clothes.
Back to present
"Wow, that's surprising. Well, now that I think about it..." (F/n) trailed off in thought. "What is it?" (F/n) smiled. "Tom-san was the upperclassman that showed me around the school and showed me to my classes." Shizuo chuckled. "So he knew you before me." (F/n) nodded. "Yeah, but then he followed me for awhile, and then I may have tried to throw a podium at him." Shizuo widened his eyes. "Seriously?"
(F/n) nodded, thanking the waiter when he brought them their food. "Yeah, it was creepy for a good week or so and then I snapped." Shizuo took a bite of his food. "And this was a week after you caught the desk I nearly hit you with, right?" With a giggle, the (h/c) woman ate a bit as well. "Yup. Boy, talk about a welcome..." Shizuo chuckled, and they fell into a comfortable silence. (F/n) glanced out the window. The town seemed to be so different at night, different people, different... Everything.
Taking the silence to his advantage, Shizuo began to think once again. I'm surprised she actually got... Dressed up. I mean, I don't know what I was expecting, but I certainly wasn't expecting her to be here like that. With a smile, Shizuou studied the features of his girlfriend's face, the streetlights illuminating her. She wasn't wearing any make-up, minus the lipstick, and it was hard to believe that she was a girl who beat people up for a living with brass knuckles.
"I will never figure out why my family moved to America. Ikebukuro is where all the weirdest characters are, you know? I think they'd still fit right in." (F/n) still looked out the window as she spoke. "I don't quite remember your parents, but I'm assuming they aren't normal." (F/n) sent Shizuo a look. "What kind of family gives their daughter brass knuckles for a gift? Not a normal one, for sure." With a laugh, the two continued to talk as they ate.
A couple hours later...
"My family will be here in a few, so we might as well wait outside." With a nod of agreement, Shizuo stood up and walked outside with (F/n). The light evening breeze was cold, and (F/n) sighed in content. It's so nice out here. It's nice in general! A sudden yell caught the couple's attention, and (F/n) turned to see a man- probably a criminal- running their way. "Move!" (F/n) scowled, and when the man came close enough, she landed a kick below the belt with her heel.
"Oi. You wouldn't knock a girl like me over, would you?" When the criminal looked up, (F/n) smashed her heel into his face, probably breaking his nose. "Oh look, perfect. Not only did I mess up your face, but the police are coming. Lucky you I don't have my brass knuckles on." (F/n) removed her (f/c) heel and stood casually, hiding the blood that was on the bottom. Shizuo shook his head but smiled nonetheless.
A familiar car pulled up, and the backseat door opened with (C/n) poking her head out. "Come on in!" (F/n) smiled, and grabbing Shizuo's hand, got into the car. (F/n) was in the middle of (C/n) and Shizuo, with her parents in the front seat. "So you're the infamous Shizuo I've been hearing about, huh?" As usual, the cousin was the first to speak. Of course, she had been about seven when (F/n) and her boyfriend first met, so she'd never 'met' him in the first place.
"And you're...?" (C/n) clapped her hands together before holding one out. "(C/n) (L/n)! I'm (F/n)'s cuz!" Exhaling a bit, (F/n) wiped the blood off the bottom of her heel. "I'm (M/n), (F/n)'s mother. You know, I'm surprised! Back then, you and (F/n) used to bicker like crazy, and now to think that you're dating! Why, it's like-" "Mom."
With a laugh, (M/n) stopped blabbering. "Sorry, sorry! I just can't help it!" (F/n) slumped down as far as she could with a seatbelt and a dress on. (D/n), who was driving, looked in the mirror. "And I'm (D/n), (F/n)'s dad. Nice to meet you again, Shizuo." With a smile, Shizuo gave a small wave, then sweat-dropped. I really don't remember any of these people! (F/n) must've seen the look on his face and nudged him, mouthing, "It's okay. If they weren't my family, I wouldn't remember them either."
The car ride home was filled with chatter, although (F/n) was silent most of the ride, only chiming in when she felt the need to cut somebody off. Most of the time, she would rub her fingers habitually or stare out the window. Then, after a few minutes, the car got quiet, making it slightly awkward. (F/n) looked over, and it seemed the whole (L/n) family didn't know what to say. With a sigh, (F/n) turned back to the window before opening her mouth again.
We always sang something when we were bored...
"Cross the borderline of black and white and
climb the stairway up and up we go.
Nothing good to do. Just bored to death hey
can I take your hand and steal you away?"
Everybody seemed to perk a bit. (C/n) sang along.
"Step and strumble do you want to go on?
Don't you worry, the altar is our floor.
Toss and turn and dizzy up ourselves and
keep on dancing, you and me right here now."
With a silly grin, (M/n) joined in.
"Shall we dance? - So what?
Shall we dance? - No thank you!
Shall we dance? - Enough!
Shall we dance? - No more please!
Shall we dance? - Don't need it!
Shall we dance? - Go away!
Shall we dance?"
Even (F/n)'s father joined along. Shizuo looked on, confused.
Bury the room with all the shrill calls, voices
swirl the senses, down and down we go. (Oh!)
Nothing good to do, just bored to death, hey.
Why don't we make a clean breast of it now?"Meaning connected to these simple these words.
Reason of hating without seeing them.
Finding it... finding it... no meaning, no reason.
Gnash my teeth while smiling shy.
Smile with eyes shut and everything black.
I don't want to myself with all that nonsense!"Shizuo smiled a bit, still not knowing what was going on, but that was okay.
"Hopin' stepin' may I have this dance?
this is the world's end, shall we do the "one, two"?
Drink in all if this apocalyptism.
How about a little taste of daze and
Tick and Tack, the moment's moving on.
Shoot now, "say cheese!", our time is running out.
Round and round and going round and round.
Intoxicate, the world is getting-
High"A spatial just for you bystanders, jump
in the terminal, let's start the race.
Nothing good to do. Just bored to death, hey.
Can I take your hand and steal you away?Something seems to be unusual and wrong.
Shall we believe in what is called "our fate"?
Step and stumble, do you want to go on?
No, no, how about making fool of ourselves?Meaning of repeating all these foolish moves.
Reason to step as the music grooves.
Finding it... finding it... no meaning, no reason.
Just want to dance when I need a little blue.
Just want to laugh when I need a little tear.
I don't want to hear anymore of that ego!Pop'n sense'n may I have this song
before the world's end, shall we sing the un deux?
My heart, it's yours. Can you hear the beat?
No, no. Not yet. I won't forget how.
Oh my, look and see, what a lovely view!
There, there, the world's a monochrome highway.
Growl and creep, not a single piece will move.
Anyhow, it's dead. Nothing's going to change.
Hopin' Stepin' may I have this dance
This is the world's end. Shall we do the "one, two"?
Drink in all if this apocalyptism.
How about a little taste of daze and
Tick and Tack, the moment's moving on.
Shoot now, "say cheese!", our time is running out.
Farewell, so long have a nice day.
Goodbye, to this World's End
When all was said and done, they had arrived at (F/n)'s house. Shizuo shook his head, smiling. (F/n) couldn't stop the grin that came across her face. "Hey, why'd we always sing about the world's end and violent stuff and things like that?" (D/n) chuckled. "Part of the heritage, I guess." With laughs, everybody was out of the car. Before she went inside, (F/n) turned to her family. "Thanks, everyone. Now go home, will ya?" Dad, mom, and cousin laughed.
"Whatever you say, (F/n)! See ya!"
When her family gone, (F/n) felt exhaustion. Thank goodness. Anymore time and I might've collapsed. Shizuo noticed her tired expression. "Ugh... I feel all the energy I had earlier just go out the window. My family is tiring!"
"Well, at least that's normal, right?" (F/n) chuckled. "I guess, Then again, they're tiring for another reason, but... Yeah, that is normal." A smile crossed her face as she realized her family had some aspect of 'normal'. (F/n) looked over to Shizuo. "W-Well, thank you for tonight." It was obvious the words had never come out of her mouth before because she stuttered a bit, as well as stumbled over her words.
"Don't hit me when I say this, but you're cute when you stutter." (F/n)'s eyes widened as her face turned red. She muttered under her breath, "That's a load of crap and you know it." But smiled nonetheless. Shizuo smiled back at her before leaning down to kiss her. (F/n), luckily, didn't have to stand on her toes as she kissed him back. It was short and sweet, but still displayed what they had for each other. "I'll see you tomorrow?"
"You bet."
