I had always believed that no one would love me.
Was I wrong.

When I first met (F/n), she was a serious ass. She still is, but it isn't as bad as it was back then. She pissed me off almost as much as Izaya does, and that's saying something. However, when she was cornered by a gang, I ended up saving her, and so, a long friendship started. (F/n) has always been my closest friend. She's probably the only one who could storm my house at eleven at night and we'd compare the victims of our tempers.

Actually, I noticed that ever since we started dating, both of us have managed to tone down the 'beating people up' thing. Of course, with the wedding coming up in just a few hours, I am nervous as hell...

Shizuo looked in the mirror, adjusted his bowtie, glanced in the mirror, patted down his clothes. Anything to keep his nerves from spiraling. "Son, you need to calm down." Shizuo jumped when his father appeared behind him. "O-Oh, hey, dad." Shizuo coughed. He had practically forgotten he'd invited his parents. Shizuo's father chuckled. "I felt the same way proposing to your mom. Well, maybe not as tall, but..." Both men laughed. It had been awhile since Shizuo interacted with his family like this.

"In all seriousness, son... You're marrying a good woman. And considering everything that's been happening..." With a smile, Shizuo's father patted him on the shoulder. "You did good." Shizuo smiled and glanced back at the mirror. He suddenly felt a lot more confident. "Thanks, dad." Realizing that he had to head out, father and son walked out.

Standing in his place nervously, Shizuo had a civil conversation with the minister while they waited. Shizuo's father came over and gave him a cheeky smile. "By the way, I saw (F/n), and she looked good." Shizuo chuckled. Thank goodness his family was here. He'd probably still be shaking if they weren't. Then, people began to walk down he aisle.

First was Celty, (F/n)'s Maid of Honor, and Shinra, Shizuo's Best Man. Next, it was the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Erika and Walker, Kasuka and Ruri, and Mikado and Anri. Then came little Akane, happily scattering petals down the aisle with Kida, who held the rings. The organist took her initiative and played the music as (F/n) appeared. Shizuo felt his breath hitch as (F/n) walked down the aisle with her father.

Her dress was simple, but elegant. She wore a halter top with a straight skirt, with a little lace trailing behind her. The foundation on her face, covered by a lacy veil made the bags under her shining (e/c) eyes. A light, (f/c) trim surrounded her dress as she finally stepped in front of Shizuo. (F/n)'s father winked at the two before standing to the side. "You look beautiful." (F/n) blushed. "And you certainly look handsome." With a smile, Shizuo took her hand and lightly ran his fingers over her ring finger.

The minister began his speech with how wonderful young love was and how magical it could be. The two paid some attention, but they mostly had eyes for each other in that moment. (F/n) felt that her heart was going to beat out of her chest, and she was sure Shizuo felt the same. When they announced it was time for the vows, (F/n) gave her lover's hand a squeeze.

He had spent a good portion of the night writing his vows, so Shizuo needed to get this right. "(F/n). The one girl who wasn't scared of me, who's always stood by my side, the one who loved me when no one could. Even near death you stuck to my side, and I have a feeling there's not many people like that." Everyone chuckled, including (F/n). "Shizuo... I have a feeling if you never threw that desk my way, I would've never met you. Through all our ups and downs, I'm glad to have been there."

The priest smiled. "Shizuo Heiwajima, will you take (F/n) (L/n) to be your lawfully wedded wife, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do you part?"

Shizuo smiled at (F/n) as he responded. "I do."

"(F/n) (L/n), will you take Shizuo Heiwajima to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do you part?" (F/n) smiled softly. "I do."

"And now the rings."

With a silly grin that covered his face, Masaomi walked up and presented the rings. Shizuo took (F/n)'s, muttering a thank you. (F/n) took her partners, smiling at her nephew with a 'Thanks, kid'. Masaomi winked and stood back in his place. "Shizuo, as you place this ring on her finger," The priest instructed kindly, "you are to say these words: With this ring, I thee wed and with it I bestow upon thee my pledge of faithfulness and enduring love."

Shizuo exhaled loudly, making everyone chuckle once more. He carefully put the ring on (F/n)'s finger, where it belonged. "With this ring," His voice was quiet, but sincere. "I thee wed and with it I bestow upon thee my pledge of faithfulness and enduring love." The priest turned to (F/n), and she did the same. "With this ring..." She smiled. "I thee wed and with it I bestow upon thee my pledge of faithfulness and enduring love."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." The priest smiled. "You may now kiss the bride."

Shizuo gently lifted the veil up and over (F/n)'s head. He cupped her cheeks and quickly kissed her. Everyone clapped, some people (i.e (F/n)'s father) wolf whistled. The photographer came up to them as everyone began to head to the reception hall. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Niekawa-san." The reporter smiled nervously, holding his camera. "H-Hello..." (F/n) laughed. "Don't look so nervous! We're not gonna hurt you!"

After about fifteen minutes of pictures, Niekawa (nervously) asked if he could write a story on their wedding. Shizuo shrugged. "Why not? Maybe it'll keep people away from us for awhile." (F/n) nodded in agreement. After the little 'interview', the newlyweds headed over to the reception hal. "And now, may I present, Mr. and Mrs. Heiwajima!" Claps went around the room as Shizuo and (F/n) walked in. Shizuo spun his wife around before kissing her, making everyone clap harder.

"Your full of surprises today," (F/n) muttered, making her husband chuckle. They took their seats at their table, and people came up to congratulate them. (F/n) was surprised to see her sister, Masaomi's mother, among the throng of people. At Shizuo's insistence, (F/n) had invited her but didn't expect her to show up. After all the congratulating, everyone went to eat. Thanks to Simon and the others at Russian Sushi, sushi (and quite delicious sushi, may I add) was supplied for the wedding. And, Simon even got to publicize the restaurant.

(F/n) couldn't help but laugh as Masaomi went on to flirt with some of the bridesmaids, who giggled at him. Sheesh. My nephew has no shame, does he? After about half an hour, (F/n)'s mother announced, "May we please have our newlyweds for their first dance as husband and wife?" (F/n) sighed and didn't budge until Shizuo pulled her out of her seat. The DJ winked and started the music up. (())

God, they both felt so nervous. Their hearts were beating loud enough for the other to hear. As Shizuo gently spun her around, (F/n) could feel her blush increasing. Everyone was watching them, after all. She was used to people having her attention on them, but not like this. (F/n) looked over to her father, who winked, and she turned back to Shizuo with a smile.

As the song ended, Shizuo hugged (F/n) and everyone 'awwed' before the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and anyone who wanted to dance joined them. "How are you such a good dancer?" (F/n) muttered loud enough for her lover to hear. Shizuo chuckled, ruffling her hair. "I don't know myself. Maybe I learned from Kasuka?" Both of them laughed as they switched off to their parents and danced with them for a bit.

After the dances, everybody took a small break. Akane had a camera on her and took pictures of the guests and the happy couple, sometimes catching (F/n) stealing a kiss from her lover. She giggled and moved on.

At around 5, it was time for the couple to cut their cake and share a piece. Walker called out for (F/n) to smother Shizuo's face with cake, and that's what she did. Everybody laughed, including (F/n) until she got the same treatment. She stuck her tongue out at him before kissing him, wiping away any stray frosting. After that ordeal, (F/n) tossed her bouquet into the sea of women and girls. Much to her surprise, Celty caught it, and ended up giving a flower to all the others. (F/n) smiled.

Then, much to her 'annoyance' (she actually wasn't, she justed acted annoyed) (F/n) was forced to sit down so the garter toss could take place. She could feel the heat on her cheeks as Shizuo bent down, trailed his hand up her thigh, and slid it off. He lightly tossed it, and Shinra caught it before putting it on Celty's leg- pretty high.

After that, everyone was back at the dance floor, or the single men and women hung out around the bar. Shizuo took in a breath, spoke to the DJ, and then took a microphone. The music paused. "Um... Hello, everyone." Everybody turned toward him. (F/n) gave him a curious look.

"I'm not very used to... Civil public speaking, so excuse me for that." Laughter went across the room, and Shizuo chuckled nervously. "Heh. Well... I never imagined that I would ever get to this point in my life. It may be a reason I've been a bit touchy about the topic of 'true love'- it's something people shouldn't take for granted if they have it. Now, I believe I do..." With a nod from Shizuo, the DJ played the instrumental he needed. Shizuo watched as (e/c) eyes watched him carefully.

What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down.

(F/n) let out a small, inaudible gasp as her eyes went wide. Good lord, Shizuo...

What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

Everybody looked to each other, somewhat shocked, but most of all (F/n).

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you,

(F/n) was mesmerized, with one hand over her mouth, her eyes brimming with tears as her husband continued the song.

Give me all of you
Cards on the table, we'reboth showing hearts
Risking it all, though it's hard

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you

I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

As the end of the song neared, Shizuo walked toward (F/n) and spun her around and kissed her forehead. "I love you, (F/n)." Everybody clapped, and (F/n) could feel the happy tears running down her cheeks. "Dammit, you. Why didn't you tell me you could sing?" Shizuo shrugged. "The topic never came up."

It wasn't long before they were on their way out and into the car, (because Shizuo totally has a driver's license) driving away to (F/n)'s house. The couple had agreed that Shizuo should move into (F/n)'s place, and that he did. Apparently, the news that the two strongest people in Ikebukuro had spread quickly, and people that the two didn't even know waved at them.

Once they arrived, Shizuo smirked before getting out the car. (F/n) unbuckled her seatbelt and went to get out when Shizuo picked her up. "Ever the gentleman." (F/n) smiled regardless and nuzzled his neck cutely. Shizuo chuckled and opened the door before carrying her inside. He set her down, and she quickly skipped to her now shared bedroom. "Come on~! The faster we get changed, the faster we get out of here!" Shaking his head, Shizuo followed her in.

Shizuo slid into the bathroom as (F/n) changed in her room. She sighed and giggled. (F/n) knew how shy he could be, although she really was no better, if not worst. (F/n) unbuttoned her dress until it got at an awkward angle, and she couldn't reach. With a huff and a slight blush, (F/n) knocked on the bathroom door. "Hon, could you help me out here...?" Shizuo responded with a 'I'll be right out', and (F/n) sat on the bed.

When Shizuo came out, he was wearing a basic shirt and pants. His cheeks turned slightly pink when he saw the bare skin of (F/n)'s back. He walked over and unbuttoned the rest. "There." (F/n) smiled, and Shizuo retreated back to the restroom.

After (F/n) had changed into a casual (f/c) blouse and shorts, she switched places with Shizuo and wiped any make-up she had on. It was nice, but annoying. (F/n) then let down her hair so it rested like it normally did. When she popped back out, she smiled at Shizuo. "Ready to go?"

And with that, they were off.
