chapter 22 stand alone- part one - Sam
Aaron POV
"You should get rid of her."
"What?" I turned my attention from the computer to Leon who was laying on the couch.
"You are getting too involved with her, she will be a burden to you." He avoided eye contact, staring holes in the wall in front of him.
"Well, she was a burden from the very beginning." I replied annoyed turning back to the PC screen.
"Yesterday didn't go by unnoticed, soon someone will come trying to take the place of the leader."
"So what? Let them try, I was beginning to get bored anyway." I smiled at the thought of venting my claws on some stupid dog.
"What about William, he seems to plan something, and you know damn well that it has to do with her!"he spoke with worry heavy in his voice.
"You don't even know why he let her leave like that 4 years ago!" he exclaimed angry. We had all been there, but William was the only one who notice a child disappearing with mental ability.
"The more reason to keep her by my side." I stopped, waiting till he looked me in the eyes.
"Besides, would you have the heart to get rid of her." I hoped that he didn't, otherwise the girl was screwed for now.
He starred at me for a while before his stomach grumbled, laughing he stood up went to the kitchen, the girls little domain.
I was worried, William wasn't acting normal around her, that at least was clear besides her powers were to weak and I ... was I falling for her?
I had proven that I felt more her than I should, but still, I was the leader and she was my underling nothing to change there.
Kala PoV
"You sure you are alright Kala?" Clover asked me for what seemed to be the thousand time.
"I'm just fine, you know,- I'm probably the most unluckiest girl alive- you get used to such things happening around you."I stated matter of factly, while chopping onions for dinner.
"That's right you could get yourself in the World Record Book!" Leon came laughing in the kitchen.
"Not ready!" I slapped his hand away as he tried to taste the food, I was making granny's curry.
"Let me taste some!" he whined like a two years old. It looked ridicules, King Kong whining!
"No! Wait till it's ready, now out of my kitchen!" I pointed to the door and he grumbled something but went anyways.
"Kala?" Clover voice seemed vary and I turned to look at her.
"You remember seeing William once before, right? Can you tell us about it?"
"Yeah, of course Lucy introduced us briefly two years ago." I lied actually, but they didn't need to know that.
"Not that encounter. The warehouse, girl."
My body tensed up.
"Mhh, yeah I also remember Aaron, it was in the warehouse, it was dark, they came and I went home, that's it." my voice was flat and cold, I didn't want to speak about this.
"Can you tell us some details?" she asked again, pressuring for more.
'Kala! RUN!'the distant voice screamed at me.
"No!" I shouted more to my memory than answering Clover.
"We weren't really asking, girl." Leon hard voice grumbled beside Clover.
I went to him, looking dead in his eyes, my heart already beating heavy. "You have the record of me, go read it, I have lost a part of my memory, I can not tell you anything I don't know."
'Kala? Kala!'the sweet voice screamed panicked in the back of my head.
I stomped to my room, while the voice resounded in my head. It had been my fault...
I tossed my shirt to the bed, chose some new black clothes, not caring that Leon bursted in.
"Princess, you shouldn't test my temper." he threatened me but I barley spared him a glance, while putting on my silk blouse. 'don't test my temper' they loved that phrase.
"I lost my memory there is nothing else to say, go ask William himself if you want to know."
"You do remember, so spit it out!" he took my chin in his palm and forced me to look at him. "Tell me." he demanded again in a much softer voice.
"What would you do, if I don't tell you?" I grabbed his collar and pulled him down to me. "Something worse than the guys yesterday? Beat me? Lock me up? What could you do to make me speak?" My voice turned into mere whispers in the end, while I looked in his eyes. There wasn't much left I hadn't lived through, ancient torture mothods maybe?
He bent down more and whispered in my ear his voice so cold and threatening, that shivers ran down my back. "I can do whatever I want with a bug like you."
I chuckled at that. "Bugs, Leon, bugs are hard to kill." I retorted dryly.
I put on my trousers and shoes, grabbed my coat and left, ignoring the three werewolves staring holes in my head.
Four years ago. I died, died once again I better say, but that time I took him with me and returned alone.
It had been my fault, I killed him. If it weren't for me he would still live. My parents, my siblings even Thomas knew.
'Kala? hey sis!' he shouted towards me
He was smiling, like a sun under the angry crying sky, waving a spare umbrella above his head.
Sam... why couldn't it have been me?
He wanted to pick me up from school it was late already, but there came this van from the corner, a guy jumped out and grabbed my hair pulling to the vehicle.
"Kala!" I remember him screaming my names hundred times. He tried to fight my captor, but got beaten up and was thrown on the road. The upcoming car hit him.
Glass broke,
a frantic voice,
blood on the floor,
my eyes filled with tears, as I was pushed in the car.
Trashing around, screaming, crying nothing helped. Nothing would help. My brother Sam had died, because of me, because I was there he died.
*-Memory-* 3rd POV
The little me woke up in dark and cold place laying on the concrete floor, the air stench of things one would have rather not thought about, but there was something different in it that made a knot in her stomach- blood.
"No, please no more!" some voice shrieked form above, startled she jumped up and started running to the only light available in this place, the single door, only to run into someone's rock hard body.
The girl would have landed on her arse but got caught by two strong arms holding her firmly. There was a blond guy towering above her a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
"Now, now how rude to go without saying hello."
Before she could respond he took her wrist licking for a second and biting down...
