Chapter 4: Once in Storybrooke..

I lay in my bed thinking about Regina and my perfectly raised boy. "I did the right thing 10 years ago" i say to myself. I could never raise him like this, so polite..and friendly. And Regina..i sit straight up and try to erase Regina out of my mind. Emma, you have a date tonight. Think about that! I didn't have a lot of sleep. I look at my alarm clock and it's 6.30 AM. Time to get up, since i can't sleep anymore. As i grab my phone i see i have a text message from Tamara.

T:-Em, how are you? Did you arrive allready?
E:-Hey T, yes i arrived. I met my son and his mother. He turned out pretty good!
.....
T:- Good to hear Em, don't get too attached. I'm worried about you! See you soon.

Of course she's up allready, she's probably at work at this hour of the day.

E:- Don't worry about me. I'll be fine! X

I hop into the shower and i make sure it's as cold as possible. I need a fresh start for the day. When i'm done it's 7.15 AM and i decide to have breakfast at the diner. I walk downstairs and i see one more person besides me, having breakfast. It's a woman around 45 years old with short hair and a round face. I'm really not in the mood to greet her, but she smiles polite and greets me before i could turn away. I smile and greet back.
"Goodmorning beautiful, how did you sleep?" Ruby asks me teasingly when i take my seat on the bar stool. "Goodmorning sunshine, i slept well thank you." I tease back. "What can i get you for breakfast?" Ruby dives into her waitress role again and i order scrambled eggs. I want to sit down as the only other customer tells me that i can sit with her. I really don't want to, but she might be lonely or something.. "thanks!" I say awkwardly. "I'm sorry i don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, but have i seen you before?" The lady stares at me like she seen a ghost. "I don't think so ma'am i just came to town...." -- "Oh, it's Mary Margaret. I am so rude.." i can't help but feel totally comfortable with this woman, she seems like a nice lady. "That's ok, i haven't introduced myself either. My name is Emma. It's nice to meet you!" -- "Emma you say?..what a beautiful name. My daughters name is.. oh never mind. Look at the time, i have to go to class. Enjoy your breakfast, Emma." She walks away and turns around one more time before leaving the diner. That was strange.. i finish my breakfast and decide to go for a walk and get to know the town a little bit.

After i took Henry to school i was ready to go to work. Everything seemed to be a little normal again and i didn't feel the nerves i felt yesterday. Henry's birth mother was a nice woman and i don't think i have to worry about her taking my son away. I adopted him, so i've always prepared myself for the biological mother to show up, i have to respect that Henry would want to get to know her. The only problem is.. i think miss Swan is very sexy, and the worse case is that she's gay too.
I walk in the town hall at 8.15 AM. My assistant isn't here yet. She usually starts her day at 9 AM. I begin to work and try to finish my paperwork. I get a call and i see it's miss Tink.
"Goodmorning miss Tink, how are you?"

"Oh well, don't worry about it. You take a good rest and i'll see you tomorrow then." *Sigh..* no assistant today. Okay, well i finish this and i might go home a little sooner this afternoon.

After a few hours i hear someone knocking my door and i try to reach for the intercom, then i remember that Tink called in sick. "Yes, come in." I regretted that i let this person in the minute she opened the door. "Miss Swan, what a surprise..what can i do for you?" -- "miss Mills, i'm sorry to bother you, but i was done walking around town..there's not really much to do, is there?" I laugh because of her cuteness, but stay in my mayor role. "Well there is, if you can see the magic of this little town. How about i show you around this afternoon?" No Regina..what did you just do. You are NOT going to show her around. Ok miss Swan just decline my offer, pretty please? "Sounds like a plan, thank you Mayor Mills." I smile and then turn my face away as smooth as possible to hide my red face. "I wonder to what kind of magic you're taking me miss Mills." --" let me organize these paperworks before we go, and then i'll take you to some of the highlights in Storybrooke."
I put away my work for the day and get my long black coat. "Oh you can just call me Emma, by the way." She tells me when opening the door. "Miss Swan will do, Emma."

Fine, be like that, i just think it's sexy when you call me miss Swan.
We walk out the town hall and go straight to the ocean. I haven't been at the haven yet, i didn't even knew there was a haven..
"Ok i like the boats, do you own one of these?" I ask her."--"Yes and no. You see that pirate ship over there? It's a real pirate ship. I bought it for Henry when he was into pirates, 3 years ago. It's a highlight for me, he still comes here often when he's mad about something, or to read a book.' I watch Regina as the wind is playing with her hair and she looks like a godess. "Don't you mind sharing all these memories with me?" I ask her carefully. I don't want to get in the way. "You know, i thought i would. I thought i would feel a loathing when you came into our lifes, Henry's life. But i don't." She says it with a straight face as she shoves the subject of off the table and continues. "Let's go to the clock tower now, it's a symbol of the town, but the clock isn't working. I still need to get it fixed." we walk towards the centre of the town again and we make a stop at where the tower is located. "If you like to read, like Henry does, this is the place to be. Belle runs the library inside the tower." -- "i'm not really a reader, but this library is something else. I really like it." I want to walk inside as Regina stops me by grabbing my arm gently. "Thank you for coming miss Swan, it means so much to Henry." She looks at me with those eyes again, and i just stop and stare. I wish i knew what she was really thinking. I keep glancing in her eyes as i drown in them. "Your eyes..are really beautiful." I compliment her as she looks away shy. I soon understand this was a stupid move.. "I'm sorry Miss Mills, i don't want to make you feel uncomfortable.."

Is she flirting with me? I don't know what to say, how can something so wrong feel so good. "That is quit inappropiate Miss Swan." I say with a straight face and try to keep my mayor act up. My knees are shaking, why are my knees shaking? I walk inside the building and i'm followed by Miss Swan. "I'm sorry i didn't mean to.. " She whispers as i ignore her apology. "Mayor Mills, what an honor. What brings you to the library, Henry is at school right?" Belle is walking towards me and Emma from the back of the library. She's not the typical library girl but she does look like the girl next door. "Good afternoon Belle, i'm showing miss Swan around. I'd like you to meet Emma Swan, she is the woman who gave birth to Henry and is staying for a few days." Belle's eyes widen as she looks at me. "Oh my, Emma it is so nice to meet you! i am Belle. The mayor did a great job raising Henry. Henry is a lucky and happy boy." I shake her hand and smile. "Yes, he turned out pretty great. I couldn't have done it myself and i'm happy he grew up with Regi.. mayor Mills." I look at Belle and i can't help but feel satisfied when Belle tells Emma about Henry. I couldn't be more proud of him.
As we continue our walk around town, i show her gold's shop, the school where Henry is being teached at this very moment and finally we end up at the mayor's mansion. My mansion.
"I hope you liked our walk miss Swan, we arrived at my house." --"a house Miss Mills? This is a friggin mansion!.. anyway, thank you for today i really liked it." -- "This is all storybrooke offers, i understand it's not as exciting as your job at the FBI." She nods her head and i might have said something wrong. "Regina, Storybrooke is amazing. I live in the big city so i appreciate the quiet streets and the polite people very much. I'm happy i came here, not just for Henry." She tells me when she looks straight into my eyes. What does she mean with "not just for Henry? "Right, you have a date with Ruby tonight. Let's see where that is going." I try to save myself by talking about Ruby, not even bothered she called me by my first name. I can't resist this woman. My mind is saying to back off, but my heart keeps wanting her around.
"You don't really seem to like Ruby, do you miss Mills? Why is that?" -- "No, it's not that..it's just that Ruby is.." I really don't know what to say when Emma finished my sentence. "Gay?".. there's a pause and neither of us is saying a word. Just looking at eachother. I feel Emma's eyes burning in me when finally she comes to a conclusion and she couldn't be more wrong about it.
"Mayor Mills, are you a homophobe?" No Emma..i'm not! I can't tell you what is wrong with me. Why i dislike Ruby so much. It's because of my own denial. Emma i'm a lesbian myself and i want you inside my house and take off my clothes and kiss me everywhere and..
Emma slowly walks away after she took this way too personal. "Miss Swan.. it's not that!!...'"i yell at her and then whispers 'It's complicated..' i feel horrible. I feel like i just wanna crawl in my bed and cry. Why can't i just tell the world that i'm gay. It's way too real if i say this out loud. This empy spot who can't be filled is killing me. I have no time to pity myself. I have to pick up Henry from school..
