Violet starts to walk trying to catch her breath, sobbing. She rubs her arms for warmth, she wishes she had that jacket, she wishes she had Pearl.

   It's 6:30 am.

"Thirty more minutes." She reassures herself trying to walk back to her house.

She explores the city seeing the dead bodies. The lives taken away to this evil holiday. She wants it gone, for good.

After twenty minutes in the cold frigid air she sees a silhouette in the distance similar to Pearl's. It is Pearl.

She can't believe what she's seeing. At that point nothing's real. "Pearl!" She runs towards the familiar face.

Pearl holds out that same hoodie, "Still want that jacket?" She pulls Pearl into a deep hug for about 5 minutes, crying in the crook of her neck again.

"Let's go home." Pearl announces grabbing onto Violet's hand.

"I thought you were dead!"

"Do you think I was going to leave you?"

Violet didn't need to ask about Sharon and Adore, she just knew. There was dead silence until a loud siren goes off a precisely seven. That means the Purge is over.

In comes a harsh white light blinding their face. In comes the morning sun, something they thought they'd never see.

They stand there in the middle of the street, watching ambulances fly by aiding anyone in need or deceased.

"Why did we do this?"

Pearl looks over to Violet, "Because the Purge purifies."

The next week Pearl and Violet are on the news for a TV interview.

The interviewer asks Violet, "Did you ever expect to be killing your," There's a long pause, "Vice and Principal of your highschool."

"Never in a million years."

"Well why did you do it?"

"Well, there's a lot of reasons. Us humans have a dark side to us, something that doesn't come out. I've been cooped up and told to bottle my feelings for so long that I couldn't take it anymore, so I just, did."

"And you, Pearl?" The interviewer points towards Pearl.

"Because the Purge purifies." Pearl answers with a devilish grin grazing across her delicate and soft features.
