The Assassin. 02

After convincing the council to reinstate my spectre status, I found Shepard. She decided to help me in my mission against the collectors and joined me in my recruiting efforts. So far we had Zaeed, Kasumi, and the justicar, Samara. Our next recruit was Thane Krios. He was a well known Drell assassin and would be a great asset to our team.
We were having trouble finding him though. His next hit was an Asari by the name of Nassana. Cerberus had several contacts looking for him, but kept turning up empty. Eventually we had a hit. Nassana was on Illium, meaning Thane more than likely was too. I put my head in my hands, trying to figure out the easiest way to get the Drell to come with us.
Nassana. If we had her, then we had him. I headed down to the crew quarters to assemble my squad for this particular mission. "Kasumi, I'm going to need you for this one." I said as I walked in to the room she was staying in.
Shepard was as usual sitting at the bar. "What's wrong Andy?" "Lily, you were dead for a full year because of me. If you had just got into the pod with joker, you would've lived." "I'm alive now, and I need you for this mission. You good? Otherwise I can ask Miranda if there's anyway to make an alcoholic mist to inject into your helmet." She started to laugh and shook her head. " No, I think I'll be good. Although, you may be the one to go after thane. Even Kasumi won't be stealthy enough to sneak up on him."
"We'll worry about that when we get into those towers."
Afterwards, I headed to the armory to suit up. Lately I had been having flashbacks to akuze. Chawkwas said they were probably stress induced due to the seriousness of this mission. I slid on the rest of my armor and headed to the shuttle to dock in Illium.
On my way down, Miranda stopped me. " Anna, you're going to want to see this." She handed me her data pad. It was a bio on Drell anatomy. I looked up at her in confusion. "What am I going to need to know this for?" " Just read it." I looked down on it and immediately noticed the word poison. I began reading. " Drell have a poison that clots blood and has a high likely hood of paralyzing the victim. It tends to be delivered by a bite, and is sometimes used to help patients who are bleeding out. It is not potent enough to kill, but it takes about 4 days for it to leave your system."
" Why is this important?" She looked at me and sighed. "I don't think he will, but he may try to use this poison to escape if he is threatened. Please be careful." I shrugged and headed off.

TIME SKIP

I silently tracked the assassin, taking down mercenaries that were trying to protect Nassana, to no avail. It was like he knew I was tracking him. Even with my camouflage, he still manage to evade me, leaving me to clean up whatever he had left behind.
I had found several salarian workers that had been saved by the Drell. They all said that he had killed mercenaries that had tried to kill them on orders from Nassana.
There was light in front of me, and I could see him clearly now. He was looking down at someone and then he suddenly dropped. I heard the commotion and dropped down behind him. What I didn't expect was for him to turn around with a blade in his hand and stab me in the stomach.
His first reaction was shock. He must have thought I was a merc and reacted to protect himself. He slid the knife out and had a hard look in his eyes. Before he could turn around, 4 mercs came into the room and started firing. With my shields down, I had just enough time to shield Thane with a biotic barrier. 3 shots hit me in the stomach. I slammed the mercs through the window on the other side of the room using pull.
By that time, I was on my knees coughing up blood. The stab wound was bad enough, but the bullets must have hit something vital. The door slid open again and in ran Shepard and Kasumi. "Oh my god Anna." I looked up and saw Thane watching me with careful eyes. He pushed Andy out of the way wrapped me up in his arms. "I'm going to give her some of my poison. It'll slow the bleeding enough to get her to your ship." He tilted my head up and kissed me. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I swear I felt sparks flying, and then I went numb. The venom was working fast. As the darkness came, I embraced it.
