Chapter 16: The News

Rui's POV:
Its been 5 hours since Sakuya and I brought Naomi to the hospital and we were still out in the hallway, it was now about midnight and the other guys who had shown up a couple of hours ago were all asleep all except me I just couldn't sleep not whilst thinking that my girlfriend could be in pain or on the brink of death.

''Naomi please pull through this, I belive in you'' I whispered quietly as I looked out of the window, I stood up and walked over to it looking out to moon, I felt a hand on my shoulder making me turn around to find the chief. ''Chief, I thought you were asleep like the others'' I said quietly so that I wouldn't wake the others he showed me a small smile then stood beside me to look out the window,

''Rui its okay I know how hard this is but its just like you said she can do this she just needs our belief in her stay strong okay?'' I looked to him as he turned to face me and smiled I nodded when the door to the intensive care unit opened to reveal the doctor and 3 nurses they had been in there working since we got here and they were all clearly exhausted. The doctor looked up to see the chief and I,

''Are you her family?'' the doctor said quietly walking over to us noticing the 3 guys still sound asleep,

''in a sense I guess you could say that'' the chief said calmly the doctor nodded and smiled to us

''she's going to be just fine, we managed to drain all the excess electricity the was in her body making her stable. Her breathing is normal and so are most of her vital signs, her heart is strong...she's a strong girl you should all be proud of her. The only thing is we can't wake her up, don't worry she's not in a coma or anything I think she may be afraid to wake up in case she lost something...or someone she loves'' the doctor said looking to me I breathed a sigh of relief at his words Naomi was going to be just fine.

''Rui go and see if you can wake her up it might be that she thinks your gone and not coming back to her, can she be discharged after she's woken up?'' the chief said turning back to the doctor who gave a slight nod,

''yes we'll need to check everything one more time when she is awake to make sure that everything stays stable and nothing turns out of balance but after that yes we can discharge her. She was extreamly lucky to live through that amount of electricity normally no human could do that. She must love you enough to have fought death your lucky to have a strong girl like her mister Wakaba. I'm going to go take a little break so you have an hour with her before I come back and check up on her, see you soon'' the doctor said with a heart warming smile as he walked away to the break room.

I looked to the chief who nodded before going to sit down next to Naomasa I knew what he was trying to tell me, I should be the one to see her and wake her up whilst he stayed with they guys to tell them about what was happening whilst I was in there. I smiled to him and walked into the room closing the door behind me, I took a breath before turning around prepared for what I was about to see.

Naomi was laying in the bed hooked up to only the heart monitor which wasn't as bad I expected I had expected her to be attached to all kinds of wires and machines but I guess she didn't need them any longer. I walked over and stood next to the bed lifting her hand into my own, her chest was steadily rising and falling her hand was bandaged up and so was her arm where the knife struck her.

I sat down on the chair and carefully lifted her injured hand to my lips giving it a kiss,

"Naomi wake up its me Rui, you should know I'm here I'm not going anywhere without you by my side. Come on don't be scared open your beautiful eyes let me see them sparkle like normal" I whispered it was silent for about 5 minuets I was going to start talking again when

"Heh, who you callin' scared lover boy" Naomi whispered as she opened her eyes slightly to look at me my eyes widened and I leaned down pulling her into a hug, being gentle so that I wouldn't hurt her. "I'm sorry I worried you Rui but I couldn't wake up. I had a dream you left thinking I was dead you found a new lover and forgot about me, it felt so real and I was stuck there" she whispered
