Chapter 9

Roxy's Pov:

'RUN, DON'T LOOK BACK. JUST KEEP RUNNING!!!'

That's what kept going through my head as I ran as fast as I could. Not even turning around when he called my name. I ran and ran and ran, I knew he was chasing me. Even through my mantra and my heart pounding through my chest, I could hear his sturdy and loud steps as he chased after me. The panic in his voice as he screamed my name. I didn't look back as his voice and foot steps got quieter with each turn I made, he may have been bigger than me, but I am much faster then him and the others. I kept running, I ran to the only people who could help me right now, Wally and Roy. Turning the corner I see they are still bickering.

"GUYS!!!"

They stop their fight to look at me, concern showed on their face, since I sounded like I was panicking which I was. If Jason found me, that means the rest of them are here or he could tell them where he found me and it wouldn't be long before the entire Superbat family got here. I gave them no time to ask me what had happened, I just grabbed their wrists and kept running, pulling them along.

Roy's Pov:

"Roxy, hey hold on,what's going on?!" Wally asked finally getting his balance back after that surprise pull. I was also surprised by our younger sisters sudden actions. I mean one minute we arguing and then the next Roxy is calling out to us and right before we could ask what happened she grabs our wrists and just drags us along like a couple of kids. But running wasn't going to get me the answers I sought at the moment, so in order to get those answers I needed to take action. So I dug my heels into the ground and used whatever strength I could muster at the moment and yanked Roxana off the ground and tossed her over my shoulder like a sack. You know like the way farmers throw sacks of stuff over their shoulders in movies, well the only difference between their cargo and mine, is that mine is kicking and punching me to let them go. It didn't take a genius to realize that Roxy was upset, something really big must of happened to get her in this kinda state. She was upset, and probably in no state to answer any of my questions, but my older brother instincts were going full charge telling me that if I wanted to help my little sister I need to get those answers and from how she pulled Wally and I a bit ago I needed them fast, but far from here. I turn me attention from Roxy to my fellow redhead companion.

"Wally, get us out of here." 

Wally just nodded agreeing that we needed to leave, and before I could even blink we where in another alleyway. Judging from the language from one of the old newspapers on the ground, we were no longer in Rome.

THUD.

I turn to my left to see Wally had collapsed on the ground. 

'Poor guy, he hasn't eaten since breakfast. What did he eat this morning?'

.

'Shoot, he didn't, I always assume he always eating, that's why he took us to a farmer's market.'

I walk towards Wally, Roxy is still over my shoulder but she has calmed down a bit since we zoomed over here. I bend down and poke Wally's back.

"Hey bro, you dead" The only response I received was him groaning that he was hungry, while his stomach made a sound, like it was eating itself.

"Yeah, yeah here man eat this granola bar for now, and don't speed eat it, savoir it bro."

I hand him a honey and oats bar, and before i knew it he was sitting up eating his snack, he was acting like he hadn't eaten in weeks,

'Is he sparkling?' 

never mind, after he was done he thanked me, stood up and nodded his head in Roxy's direction, she had gone completely still. 

"Now listen Roxana, I'm going sit you down between Wally and I, and we are going to ask you some questions. I know you probably don't want to answer some of them, but we need to know, so swear on our bond as siblings that you won't run and you will answer our questions truthfully and you won't leave anything out. OK?" It was quite and I could tell she was trying to think of a way out of this, heck I would be too if I was in a situation like this.

Sigh "Please Roxy, we just want to you to be happy." I look to see Wally was staring at Roxy, he looked like he was in pain, and I could understand, we hated to see our sister like this. Quite, scared, small, like she will break and shattered by a simple breeze. 

"OK, I swear, just please, put me down."

I look to Wally as he nods his head, I walk towards the cleanest part of the ally, and gently set Roxy against the wall. I sit down on her right side and Wally sat to her left.

'OK, here we go.'
