What We Didn't know

chapter 7

Hey everyone, AP here to say sorry for long waits between chapters. Anyway, on to the disclaimer. Yay!

Disclaimer: Still own nothing. Boo. Anyway, hope you like the chapter.

Roxy's pov:

After Roy and I got dressed we went to the kitchen to tell the others we were leaving. When we got there the others had a serious looks on their faces, even Beastboy. They paused their conversation to look at us.

"Friend Robin, you look wonderful!" Starfire was the first to speak. She spoke in a happy tone, though it seemed force.

"Thanks Star. My Bro's and I are going to head out for the day. Think you guys can handle Jump 'till I get back?", I asked Starfire, putting my hands in my pockets. I had checked the weather where we were going, and it would be cold, but not freezing. Maybe a bit windy later.

"Of course Little...I mean sure, Roxy. Go have fun. We'll be fine." Cyborg said with his small smile on. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, something was definitely up..

"Well alright. If your sure." I said, unsure why everyone seemed uneasy.

"Of course we're sure. Go have fun. Be a kid." Beastboy said with a huge grin, the Twins saying "sí!" in the background.

'Mental note: Figure out what the others are planning.' 

Just as I finished up my thought, Wally scooped me up in his arms. I look over his shoulder to see Roy climb on his back, which looked kinda funny since he is taller than Wally. Wally choose this moments to speak. "Well don't mean to eat and run but.....bye!"

And like that, we are running to Italy. I always enjoyed being carried by Wally as he ran, it sorta gave me a perspective of what he feels as he runs, the freedom that comes with it. The wind in your face, the different smells as you past each place, and the view when looking straight ahead. It's as if we're screaming into the future, to a new beginning, a new version of ourselves. I close my eyes to blink and when I open them, we are standing in an empty alleyway. Roy hops off Wally's back and Wally gently sets me down on my feet.

"Thank you, my kind sir." I say, giving Wally a small curtsy.

"Haha...why of course, my lady. Anything for you." Wally said giving me a small bow.

'What a goof' I thought, with a smile on my face that only my family there.

"Come on you knuckleheads! Rome isn't going to explore itself now, is it?" Roy yells at us from the end of the alley. Wally takes my hand and we run to catch up with Roy. Once we were beside him, Roy took my other free hand and held it tight. With Roy on my left and Wally on my right, I stop feeling scared. Instead, I feel happy, as if I don't have to worry about anything. Standing between them, I'm suddenly a child again, safe and happy.

I take a deep breath in, and exhale.

"Alright," I say with a smile "let's go!"  We  leave the dark alley and walk into the light of a new adventure.
