What We Didn't know

Still Roxy's POV:

As I walk out of the dark alley, Wally and Roy at my side, I shut my eyes as the blinding sun's rays hit them. Just as my eyes start to adjust, a small breeze flows past us, caring the sweet sent of pastries and flowers. I inhale deeply, enjoying the delightful aroma that fills the air. I look around to see various food stalls, each one decorated differently than the next. It reminds me of a time that my father described to me of living Romania. We are in a farmer's market.

"Really Wally, more food?" I hear Roy speak so I look up at him to see him shooting Wally a playful smirk.

"Hey food is fuel, and hauling both your butts at the same time around the world takes a lot out off a guy." Wally said with a smirk on his face, eyes full of mischief as he turned his gaze to Roy. "And you sir, aren't exactly light."

"Alright, now you've done it." Roy said, pouncing on Wally and wrestling him to the ground, successfully getting Wally in a head lock. Poor Wally, who was still low on fuel, struggled with all his might to get out of our older brother's hold, so I went off to get something to eat. Preferably something sweet. I know I should probably stay with my brothers but with Wally here they could probably find me in a few seconds. Unless I didn't want to be found! Then no one would ever find me. Suddenly, a sweet aroma hit me and and brought me to a halt. Entranced, I continue down the aisles of stalls, following the scent. A couple of stands line the aisles full of pastries, but out of all the desserts, one had caught my eye. There it was, nestled in a basket on a table of sweet treat under a green tent cover.... Napoleon! Ah Napoleon, the most delicious and decadent sweets on Earth.  Well, almost as delicious as Alfred's and my mother and father's traditional Romanian desserts. But definitely the best available to me today in this market place. 

I then proceeded to skip to the delicious dessert, my eyes with stars in them and a smile on my face, only to come to a halt as I remembered something Bruce had told me,

Flashback:

Third person POV:

Little 6 year old Roxy walks softly through a large rose garden in a Batman t-shirt and a jean skirt along side Ace a.k.a the Bat-hound, looking for her father, to show him the new trick she had learned from her older brother Damian. As she turns the corner of the garden wall, she is suddenly lifted into the air and place on someones shoulder. Startled, she turns to look at the strong force who moves her so easily, and her face lights up, seeing her father's blue eyes staring back at her own blue eyes.

"Tati, te cautam!" Young Roxy says in such a delighted tone, as she hugs her father. Not realizing in her sudden happiness she switched from English to her native language, řomani. (A/N: te cautam is actually Romanian, also Roxy said I was looking for you. All translations will now be in {these things})

"Well you have found me my păsărică {little bird}, but remember to use English. You must be comfortable speaking English, even when you're surprised." Bruce pulled his daughter into a warm hug, and Roxy nodded and happily wrapped her tiny arms around her father.

"Hey what about me, don't I get a hug?"

The duo turned around to see Clark Kent-Wayne approach them. Upon hearing her other Papa's voice, Roxy's smile grew twice its size. 

"PAPA!!!" Both Bruce and Clark wince, smiling, at the shear volume of their daughter's voice. Bruce gently put the little girl down, and once her tiny feet touched the ground she pounced on her other papa with as much force as hard as her tiny arms provide.

"Hello to you to my little princess!" Clark Kent-Wayne exclaimed, also smiling from ear to ear.

"Silly papa! I'm not a princess, I'm a knight like Tati." Roxy said to the Man of Steel , laughing at his energetic little girl, super proud that she can smile even after such painful memories.
