Newt Scamander x Reader

Prompt #40

-short and crappy bc I am lazy and I want to make you happy after the sad last one although this will prolly make you cringe-

"The kids.. they ambushed me.."

You had just gotten back from work, and for you being gone all day it was awfully quiet in the Scamander household. Usually your three children were running around screaming and starting food fights with one another, but on this particular day it was just complete silence. You could practically hear a pin drop.

You hummed to yourself, where could they possibly be? They couldn't be hiding, your youngest one, Layla, was awful at hiding and by now would be giggling like a maniac.

Maybe Newt was showing them the creatures again- he sometimes allowed them down there to help. You wondered around the house, in search of his suitcase and sure enough you found it sitting next to the bed.

You opened it up and stepped inside, climbing down the ladder and entering the workplace. You heard faint laughter and chanting and your mind began to race.

Being a mother of three children (plus one on the way), you knew it was never a good sign when they were laughing the way they were.

You followed the echo of their laughter and soon you spotted ropes wrapped around the tree while your children marched around it. You noticed Layla was holding a stick in her hand and was putting it above her head in a chant like motion every step she took. Wait no, that wasn't a stick. That was a wand. And not just any wand.

It was Newt's wand.

Your two boys were chanting some random language they made up as Layla trailed behind laughing, it was hard for her to keep up as she kept tripping over her pink dress.

Worry struck inside of you, what had they done to your husband? You knew they liked to mess around, but you never thought they would go to the extent of actually harming someone.

You ran over to them, "Layla, Edward (oops), Erza (oopser), what have you done with your father?" They seemed to have ignored you as they kept circling the tree, that's when you heard struggling from the other side.

You walked to the opposite side of the tree to see Newt was tied to the tree, struggling to get out. You couldn't help but burst into laughter at the sight, "What on earth happened?"

"The kids.. they ambushed me."
